  • Recalling that time I rolled an "unwise monk" for a silly campaign. They were convinced magic wasn't real (even though it was a fact of life in the world). So all their monk abilities happened when they would drink and they could shrug off all the mysticism. But the abilities weren't good in terms of actually playing DnD

  • Then someone might actually care about my brown belt outside of the gym

Getting dumped by a significant other just to see them the next week going out with the person who does leg locks so you decide to start doing wrist locks.

  • Duh! I see, tytyty

    Also

  • I imagine this needs some kind of content warning

Can I ask something edgy and you promise to not get mad?

If you're going to solicit a 17 year old, why not just solicit an 18 year old instead and risk dramatically less legal trouble?

  • I can guarantee with every shred of confidence I have that this shit was not going to be created by me unless I got what is basically a powered exoskeleton doing syntax for me in 4 different coding languages (python, SQL, javascript, HTML), helping me with libraries (docker, WASM, electron, fastAPI), and instructions for hosting on AWS. In the best case, this project was dying on the command line the second I needed unit tests to make sure everything was working. So not only was it faster/easier/more pleasant, it was possible.

I can't tell you what that means ultimately, but that's what happened to me. Thank you for being supportive of me.

  • Yes, but I used a bunch of LLMs in it and that's cringe.

Just this weekend I put the finishing touches on an ERP/workflow/database system that uses python, SQL, and JSON to store any schema you design. You can even put in scripts to automate taking raw data and turning it into good data at the click of a button.

It's FOSS as a means of trying to cleans myself of my sins.

But basically during my time at Langley monitoring leftists who post too good to inject them with cringe takes and nanobots I saw people pay out the ass for software that wasn't exactly awe inspiring. Even before that when I was working at the adrenachrome factory they had paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for a lemon of a database system. So now, forget it, you can make it yourself in an afternoon[1]. Not in a regulatory environment unless you want to pay me or recreate the nodes+modules yourself, but generally it should lower the bar for a billion different kinds of databases everyone's using. Use it on your phone, upload pictures from your phone. Use it in firefox. Use it as a exe file. Use it as a linux app. Connect to the same database from all of them. Host it somewhere yourself. Use it over LAN.

I need to make sure I know what I'm doing before I provide a github link for all the stuff I mean to share. For example, I had to make sure I have an AGPL license on that thing.

My dream project is to create RuneLite for smart glasses so people can use quest helper and hold down space bar at work to skip all the text then highlight the next step in bright cyan. Again, dork technology created by tech bros. But it would be cool and funny

[1] I could make it myself in short order because I spent months developing it. It's a pain to get anybody else to mess around and try pressing buttons without first declaring they don't understand it.

  • The focus of every ounce of my career that isn't put towards money for survival is to undercut these fuckers with FOSS. I want to do a shitload of exactly what this loser is complaining about

  • If you do too much anti-sex and regress someone past their virginity, what happens?

  • I've been plagued by nagging injuries this year. I had a nice throw lined up and, upon stamping my foot to the ground my ankle buckled and I fell over. I got right back up luckily, but I was annoyed. It's like there's all this literature and tools you can use to strengthen tendons and muscles but then I'm like "why do I have to go through all of this when I used to be able to just move and have my body work?" But that's show biz, baby.

Is it anything like that? Cause if so, I empathize.

  • It's an interesting thing. Someone once came in the gym and it turned out they were some hot shot yoga instructor. They talked about how, for a lot of people, yoga was the only time they ever touch the ground with their hands. So people aren't jumping, touching the ground, running, and doing nothing. I don't know what it means but it feels like it means something

  • I use a jump rope to warm up for BJJ sometimes. I also recently fucking around and cartwheeled over someone's guard. I also summersault sometimes to flashily sit down. While typing this since you asked. Honorable mention I'll toss people so they do involuntary jumps. Outside of that I'm often looking at good rectangle and bad rectangle so I don't think I've done anything recently

  • I like the right of way as a means of doing an algorithm instead of having to think so much. But damn if there are ambiguities and, frankly, mistakes sometimes. At that point you need a superceding principal of "just don't hit me"

  • I was in the middle of some stuff, but whatever, I guess.

  • WDYMP I'm watching your stream, why are you trying not to laugh? Bruh, that's disrespectful as shit, bruh. What's fucking wrong with you, bruh. STOP FUCKING LAUGHING BRUH! LOOK AT YOU SMILING BRUH. DISRESPECTFUL AS SHIT, BRO!

  • I don't have a good answer for you, but I do know that shame is really over hyped as a motivator and fuel source. It's a debuff that was designed to get you to step out of the fire, but if it doesn't fade then it actually makes showing up to raid day with your pre-raid BiS, pots, and memorized strats much harder. But if you don't want to play the MMO in the first place because you don't enjoy it, then maybe your role isn't buying out the auction house's mats. Maybe you're a game designer, author, or dungeon master. If you find a part of the fantasy you enjoy, you could be inspired by a vision instead of shamed into action all the time. Which, at the end of the day, means that you're not above or outside of this. Homie, you're a victim

  • Without examination I had called it a civilized society having to compete with one that was organized as a blood thirsty empire optimized for death and destruction being pit against each other in a competition of violence. If you asked me why I didn't consider the ripple effect of WW2 I would have and am currently telling you "oh yeah..."

  • Yeah, what else can you say besides Marx was right about this dogshit system that turns us into the most wretched commodities? If I were in his position I wouldn't care one little bit about America because I don't even like it. My only job would be maximizing profit and I would deserve the judgement of the vanguard party when it was my turn.

Am I wrong? I'm all ears for a different perspective.

  • Things are written to be so much more interesting per square second of entertainment by the way. In my opinion it's worth analysis how what I watch (which is admittedly not much) has every frame contributing to the narrative. It's seldom panning shots of the beach or people sighing with ennui unless it's right before they shake hands for a million dollar deal or something.

Therefore, if a woman's on screen I always see her doing something that illustrates the character's personality or advances the plot just like every other character or element of the scene. They'd have to go out of their way to make the woman seem dull or ordinary. She would be the only thing in the shot behaving that way. The only interesting critique I've heard of Princess Peach, for example, is that they changed her personality to be rambunctious and ready to get her hands dirty. A comparison to Princess Peach: Showtime! described her as living for the glitz and glam and being graceful as she floats around saving the day. It therefore shows in stark relief how juvenile the image of masculinity is because feminism is when woman does stuff. Why the fuck would anyone write a character without agency or personality? They just wouldn't fit. Characters are interesting in relation to the others around them and how they make use of that which they control. Peach stick out as if she was drawn in crayon on top of charcoal if she were simply locked in a jail cell alone.
