A hobbyist wandering through life. Take photos of stuff I think is interesting. My muse couch-surfs at random.

Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always. - Hakuin Ekaku

  • I understand what you mean, but... looks at Birgenair 301 and Aeroperu 603 looks at Qantas 72 looks at the 737 Max 8 crashes Planes have spat out false data, and in of the 5 cases mentioned, only one avoided disaster.

It is down to the humans in the cockpits to filter through the data and know what can be trusted. Which could be similar to LLMs except cockpits have a two person team to catch errors and keep things safe.

  • Nothing so far, there is Stoat, Roomy and Root, iirc there are others but I do not recall them atm.

  • "Compelled" *evil shojo laughing all the way to the delete button"

  • I'm an air crash investigator now.

  • Fossify messages work quite well.

  • Maybe cookie in a different language? My late doggo was named Ringo, which is apple in Japanese, but dad named him like that, because he was spinning around - riņķot, to spin, riņķoja, spun around - just altered to a usable name.

  • Thank you.

  • Links?

  • Is there a federated version, either in the works or planned? Because otherwise, Stoat is the only option.

  • Hi.

  • That's fine. To each their own.

  • I have written in a previous job messages, but it usually went like this:

Hello, [Name]! Hope you're not too busy! I have questions regarding [whatever the fuck it was on about]

Mostly because I hate getting a message and it is just a wall of text, the greeting allows for a slight breathing room and a chance to spot a typo.

But I never left the other hanging, more than a minute to type the needed thing up. If it was taking longer, I would just send it in chunks.

  • Wikipedia can dumb it down enough for even middle school dropouts, so it's not an excuse.

  • So, Mullvad or Vivaldi now?

  • Wasn't there a report about people looking up what tariffs even are only after the US election? Like, you'd consider looking up things the cheeto man is talking about before casting the vote, but I guess some people need to feel like they are winning, before reality smacks them down hard.

  • Y'know how, if you turn off computers the wrong way, they can be damaged and go blue screen of death, especially if in a middle of an update? This is what needs to happen to data centers, just yank the power cord and plunge them into darkness.

  • Grayjay and Newpipe (and its forks) can do that, as well as just watching it like regular youtube, but also the option to select from other platforms - like peertube, as one example - to watch.

  • True, 707 had a bunch of engine loses (Braniff test flight and Kabo 671 from top of my head) and 747 had a couple since they share pylon designs (El Al 1862 comes to mind). One was due to unseen cracks in the pylons and other in fuse pins, so maybe history decided to rhyme here.

  • D'aaaaaw! What a cute baby! Give 'em all the treatos!

  • I wonder how many just blindly believe the bots without fact checking the destinations, cuz wasn't there a guy who asked the llms if he needs a visa to go to Peru iirc and it said no, so he he flew to Peru and couldn't go any further because he didn't have a visa?
