  • I’m guessing it’s like MacOS where if it’s a game not on Steam then you’re shit out of luck if there isn’t a Linux specific version?

In addition to the options hamsterkill said, I run a lot of non-Steam games through Steam without issue. I've even run non-game software through it.

  • I disagree with colournoun. Nvidia is not complex, you just have to find distros that work better with it. I us pop_OS with a 2080 and have had zero issues. They have an Nvidia specific install option and it is super easy to install and use.

  • Your initial comment was why do they need to exist, not just that you don't need one. That's great you like your setup and it works for you. olive_tips point was that they exist because other people like them and use them.

On a personal note, I have had my Kindle for years and don't want or need a tablet. The battery still lasts weeks, and it is jail broken so I can easily transfer DRM free books from calibre. I have not held an iPad mini, but my Kindle is lighter than any other device I have held, and fits in my pocket.

  • I only ask because the linked page does not say what it is, you have to navigate elsewhere to find a description

  • So, uh, what is immich?

  • Yeah, I can see this being good for media center PCs, but would not be my everyday keyboard. Also if it requires specific software that is a no go

  • Nice, yeah for sure better to be safe. "You can eat any mushroom...once"

  • It did, and it was so funny. Tried to blame the WiFi at one point

  • Without close inspection, certainly looks like king bolete

  • Had to go fridge shopping recently, and looked at them in the stores. The only feature I've seen that is semi-useful is seeing what is inside without opening the door. 100% not worth the cost or ads. Plus the more complicated the extras, the more things that can go wrong. Wound up with a fridge that doesn't even have an in door water dispenser and it is great

  • You don't understand why people would celebrate the death of someone that wanted them dead?

  • No, that comment is pointless regardless. Of course people can do things I don't like. That was never in question. That does not mean they are free from consequences or societal repercussions.

  • OK? Again the comment of "Don't use it" is even more pointless if you live in a single party consent state.

  • Then your original comment means nothing. Also, two-party consent is pretty common

  • Can't really say that when it is an always listening device. Can't really not use it if someone around you has one

  • Yup

  • According to the census data cited, about 265,000 people in the US have dial-up as their only internet service. Rural areas tend to not have broadband access
