(especially ctrl-k for killing from your cursor position to the end of the line ctrl-a for jumping to the beginning of a line and ctrl-e for jumping to the end of a line)
I haven't tried emacs but in any other text editor for these things I'd do:
shift+end, del
home
end
do you have any more complex examples where emacs excels?
proper clothing and central heating are relatively new inventions.
central heating, yes, but proper clothing? I think you're underestimating how effective animal hides can be...
and while we didn't have "central heating" as you're referring, we did have "central fire" (a big fire pit in the middle of a round house or similar) 😅
that's a financial establishment that uses money deposited by customers for investment, pays it out when required, makes loans at interest, and exchanges currency, or the land alongside or sloping down to a river or lake.
I do sometimes, but sometimes it's because my headphones are plugged into my monitor and I have 2 monitors and it sometimes chooses the wrong one and I don't know how to disable the other one in the gui in mint and haven't bothered to do it in command line yet 😅. Other times it's because my monitor has very temperamental displayport and hdmi ports and it gets disconnected if I bump the desk, but that happens regardless of what operating system I'm using.

Also it's one more party collecting the data so more risk of leaks etc.
I assume when people do that it's because they're going to be making the fork regardless, and they think they're being helpful by submitting a pull request with thier AI slop... But really they should just keep it on thier own fork if they don't understand the changes but want to use it regardless...
another thing is the drier summers make flash flooding more likely as the soil hardens and then has less capability to absorb the rainfall when it's been completely dried out....
Also the more chaotic weather means heavier rain in shorter bursts...
