Is there a reason they can't have something like Russia's Tigr, basically a SUV with 9+ seats and basic bulletproofing to move infantry squads around in? Hell, Turkey's Kobra even has an angular hull for mine resistance and it still seats 9 and weighs half of what the M-ATV does.
