  • Neil "Smoke" deGrasse Tyson.

I don't think this is the astronomer talking, unless he forgot to log out of his personal account.

  • If that's true then most of the challenge was "wait until bad weather, pause, move gates up/down. wait until good weather, pause, move gates down/up" which is not much of a challenge. I think that's fine since they also prevent stupid mistakes where you miss one gate but don't notice until well after.

  • Most misleading headline ever, wow

  • Lmao a $100 amazon brand electric jacket? It will get you very warm, but only once.

  • I personally like them for really long rides. On a flat bar my hands go numb and there are only so many different ways you can hold a flat bar. Properly fitted drop bars at least give you more options to switch up your grip and posture.

Can they get uncomfortable? Sure, but any position is uncomfortable if you hold it long enough.

  • Weird, I've been using -noai and it seems to work.

  • It's ironic in this case because the dog is the speaker. We could reasonably assume that he is talking to female dogs. So "bitch" would not even be a curse word here, just the word for female dogs.

  • My trick is to start by adding "don't send" in the BCC line of every email first thing. Then only remove it after writing and double checking everything.

If you try to send it before removing the "don't send" text, Outlook will show a prompt that it doesn't recognize the email address and will ask you to confirm before sending.

  • Sounds like Tailwind is facing some headwinds.

    I'll see myself out.

  • Can you imagine going to an ancient Assyrian CVS? You'd need a second cart just to take the receipt home!

  • Apparently his diet is only 70-80% plant-based which, as far as I understand veganism, means he is 0% vegan.

  • The pilots could not turn off the automatic comms which were saying that they were incapacitated. They could turn off the emergency autoland feature as a whole with a press of a button (someone else linked a source for the FAQ).

  • Non-emergency autoland like you describe had been around for a long time. But you have to manually pick your flight plan and approach, and at least point the aircraft in the general direction of the flight plan so that the AP will engage and handle the rest.

This is a totally different beast because the emergency autoland picked the route and approach, managed the AFCS and comms, and then did the normal autoland stuff after all that. Garmin's emergency autoland only came out a few years ago.

  • Dawg you can literally see the intestines in shrimp, chock full of shrimp poop. No way that is any cleaner than eating a fully cooked cricket.

  • It's possible. I'm an avid milk drinker in the US and can't recall ever having seen milk without the rBST free label. You might have to buy like dollar store milk or something to find it haha. Sounds like maybe 10-20% of US milk might have rBST.

Interestingly it is not illegal to import milk produced with rBST into Canada and Google says there are no specific labeling requirements for imported milk. But that's been a thing since 2015 apparently.

So good news everyone, you may have already been drinking hormone and antibiotic infected milk already for the last 10 years in Canada if you haven't checked the label. TIL.

  • Serious question, what hormones are in the milk? I don't think I have ever seen a jug of milk without a label saying that it was free of growth hormones. Even Walmart milk has the rBST-free label.

Edit: ok I learned that while it is illegal to produce milk using rBST in Canada, it is not illegal to import milk into Canada that was produced with rBST. Check your labels folks.
