The obvious solution is to use Rust’s upcoming “spaghetti checker” feature. Once the compiler decides that your code is too messy to be maintainable, it refuses to compile.

It mostly adds AI features. Last time I checked, Microsoft even tells you that there’s no need to install it unless you just want to check out the AI stuff.

It’s genius engineering IMHO.

One time I plugged my Zune into a Linux laptop just hoping to charge it. From that point on, until I plugged it back into a Windows PC, the Zune would play one song then skip the next two. As in track 1, 4, 7, then roll over to 2, 5, 8, etc.
That was the only problem I had with my Zune though, RIP Zune, you were the best.
Oh wait except for the leap year glitch. Microsoft apparently didn’t think people would still use Zune in 2008 so all the Zunes stopped working for the duration of the leap day lol.

I’d be worried about hitting bumps on a carbon frame with that much weight on it. Are most ebikes carbon frame now?

Those people who sit 4+ dogs at a time are insane but must pull in a good bit of money.
Ok yeah fair. I live in tick country as well so any time you go in ankle high grass you will likely get ticks. I mostly just put on my outdoor pants or bug spray if I expect to do so.
Genuine question, what are you doing on a regular basis where you would expect to get ticks on you while wearing jeans? Are you a pokemon trainer walking through tall grass all day?

UnrepentantAlgebra@lemmy.worldto Comic Strips@lemmy.world•He should not have done that [Last Place Comics]21·9 months agoIt’s an interesting thought but you gotta admit it would be silly to have a boss in a game that you absolutely cannot beat. Like your character just gives in to madness/despair as soon as you encounter the boss.
Now maybe if you had a dark souls boss fight while a different big unimaginable entity tries to catch up with you might be interesting. But that also might just be a countdown timer on the boss fight which could be lame if not done well.

To put that into perspective, the circumference of the earth is ~24,000 miles. From my rough Google Earth calculations, the stated range covers the entire planet except for a tiny sliver of Antarctica and a bit of the ocean nearby.
Why would Russia need a missile with that range? Unless they just really want to take out New Zealand first, it kinda seems like they just picked the largest sensible range value (12,000 miles, halfway around the planet) and then fudged it down a bit because why would you need to fire a missile more than halfway around the planet? Just fire it in the opposite direction.

Agreed though it seems nuts to pay more for a “feature” on your phone that will only cause it to wear out faster.

Editing a quick config file from command line? Sure. Working on a big project? No way, give me an IDE with real navigation and auto complete functionality.
I think part of the reason is just that the barrier to entry for software development continues to drop with IDEs, dependency/package managers, etc. It’s really easy to get a working knowledge of your tools without knowing how they really work under the hood, which is good and bad.

Some people use it sort of like a blog where they can easily post long pages of text, sometimes it’s the first thing that shows up in the search results when you search for a computer/phone problem.
I’m gonna sound old here but the younger generations are in general less computer literate than they were back in my day, and a lot of people have no qualms about downloading and running random exe’s from discord or mediafire.

My initial experience was similar but after the first level it got a lot better.
To me the game either works great and you get a legit scary experience or the alien pops out at the wrong time and you have to briskly walk through the rest of the level or die instantly.
Anton is terrified of the sheriff? I don’t think the two characters ever encountered each other. Anton might not have known that the sheriff was following him, except in the general sense that the police would be looking for him because of the messes that he left.
