  • AI is trained on the Internet. Look at the bullshit on the Internet. AI will take some random schmoe's bullshit opinion and present it as hard fact.

That, and it just re-introduced the problem of being able to see search results without visiting any of the resultant websites. The last time, sites ended up burying answers down the page to avoid being able to see results in search previews. Making everything shittier. What kind of response is there going to be to AI summaries? Everything will undoubtedly get even shittier as sites try to get people to visit and not just read the AI summary. Hello even more obfuscation. We're taking the greatest method of spreading information around the globe ever devised and just absolutely filling it to the brim with bullshit.

  • To compare this to music streaming, I have a couple of tracks with ~4 million listens, and they each made ~$20.

  • I played through Phantasy Star one more time not that long ago. It came out (in English) in 1988.

  • Always? OK, I guess. It's probably going to make teaching hard, though.

Oh shit, this is that stupid fucking comic again, isn't it?

  • I've done that. It's not the worst. To be fair to me, I live in Korea and tahini is prohibitively hard to find. (Chick peas have at least become more common over the years.) Lately, I use olive oil and sesame seeds blended into a kind-of pseudo-tahini instead. It's definitely better than the peanut butter.

  • Definately!

  • You also downloaded 5 offensively funny songs wrongly attributed to Weird Al.

  • Haha! I live in Korea and have a daughter who was not-so-briefly completely obsessed with this movie. I know all of the words at this point. English and Korean. I didn't mind at first. It's starting to drive me a bit nuts, now. Also, it is some pretty blatant propaganda for the grist mill that is the Kpop industry. Despite the subtle nods to the contrary.

  • Lemon Toss?

  • You see a few of them here-and-there in Korea these days. They're extra infuriating here because they don't fit in most parking spaces and they'll straight-up turn a lot of two-way roads into one-way. I don't think I've ever seen one with something in the bed. Purely for show.

  • Start exercising. Now. Doesn't matter how old you are. Find the time. Doesn't have to be a full blown gym habit, just consistent, makes-you-sweat exercise. It will never be easier to get in the habit.

  • People with kids at those ages definitely. Anecdotally, mine's more grown up now, and I don't remember how big she was at those ages.

I do remember searching a whole lot of XX-month-milestone on the Internet when she was small.

  • I do! I had figured out the amount of force required to throw a 15kg child over a 0.5s throw up to 7.33 m/s (16.4 mph) at ~220 Newtons, but then I figured that information wasn't particularly useful to anyone really, so I just left it out.

  • While I agree with you, I also have to say that a significant percentage of people have no idea of the size difference between 13 and 16 months, and that saying 13 months adjusted is a little silly, but fun! So you do you.

  • Yeah, for most parents, measuring age in months ends right around the one year mark. For obvious reasons.

That and there's no way the kid in this cartoon is 32 months. That's 2 years, 8 months. Walking and talking and likely ~15kg. While not impossible, that would be pretty hard to yeet up to 16.4 mph.

  • Air quality. I moved from eastern Canada to southeast Asia. It's always hazy here by comparison. And you can see like half the stars. There has been a little improvement in recent years. Maybe China is getting its shit together.

  • I heard it was the height of some basketball player.

  • He's not eating it exactly. Just trying to suck it through his mask. I suppose if he drooled enough on it and the mask is porous enough he might manage to slurp it down eventually. He is part spider.

  • Exactly. AI will take any old random slob's opinion and present it as fact.

  • hmmm @lemmy.world

    hmmm
