  • Maybe I don't recommend it, but my bus love story is cute so I'll share. Moved from a small town to a big (ish) city for college and took the bus every day. So did one of my neighbors who I recognized to be from a neighboring small town. Whenever the bus was busy we'd sit together, and nearby if not. We are both SUPER introverted but after a year we knew each other pretty well. She would try to catch pokemon when the bus would slow down which was always an exciting moment. Then when YuGiOh Dual Links came out we were both playing it non-stop (I wish that game didn't power creep so much, or I'd still be playing it).

Anyway, we'd sometimes run into each other on walks and then walk together. Share baked goods and all that. But YuGiOh was what actually gave us an excuse to hang out (so we could play each other). We were both busy with college and so we had "the talk" where we basically both said we weren't interested in a romantic relationship at the time. I think we both meant it, but somehow it made us relax around each other more. Suddenly we were best friends (with benefits), going out to eat, doing homework together, making sure we took the same bus as much as possible. It was really easy and not a demanding thing. We both knew we were busy and had goals, we just also tried to spend time together when we could. After probably four months of that we realized we were in love and just pretending we were too busy for commitment. Nothing changed and today we're happily married and still working hard on our careers. But we play Magic The Gathering now.

  • Depends on the surface the marker was used on.

  • Which is older, Tetris, or Chess? /s

  • Seems sweet! I've been enjoying Sker Ritual lately

  • As a huge zombies fan who has skipped every game since BO3; I kinda hope they never make a good game that I feel like I want to play ever again... Because it won't run on Linux and I don't want to dual boot or get a console 😅

  • I'm restoring my foreskin right now and so thinking about this reminds me of people who take the tomato off a hamburger and then add ketchup...

  • Is it something to do with not editing the Epstein files? I'd be surprised that Patel wouldn't...

  • I remember the flop, but since Proton and Steam Deck have been waiting for them to try again. In many ways it might be bad marketing and just adding a "2" to the name would probably help. But in other ways, it might just be them being transparent? Same with the controller. Like they're owning their past and saying "we still want this, and the time is right this time"

  • Yeah, the Steam Machine was the name. It came out before Linux gaming was really a thing if I recall. Before Proton. So I think they just expected game makers to make Linux ports?

  • We had zero this year. We even put out decorations and every year we give out full size bars and pokemon packs. Live in the center of town in a dense neighborhood. I do think part of the reason is none of the street lights ever are on anymore

  • Just don't use your wife's cutting board, like I did. It had a big crack and I figured I was upcycling. She didn't notice it was the same and weeks later I got in trouble when she asked where the small cutting board was and I pointed at the butter dish 😅

  • I made myself a butter knife holder by using a magnet

  • I also wish they would call for protests over some of the heinous things. Break through with messaging. Make it clearer what the Republicans are doing. Some credit is due, though.

  • Wish Democrats in the House and Senate could also do something...

  • I guess this is specifically illegal according to the Hatch Act which is supposed to prevent using public service websites from being used to smear a political party.

  • I feel similar. 5km to work for me and I ride it every day. Probably twice a week I have a bad encounter with a car. Usually just them not noticing me on a crosswalk (which is why I always pretend I'm invisible). And in my city, we have far above the national average of bike deaths from cars.

But I still enjoy biking, and don't enjoy driving. And think cars ruin cities. And want change. I guess that's enough for me to ignore the serious risks.

  • It's actually an amazing feeling when this happens. Makes me pedal way harder.

I'd bet a bunch of them would rather be on their bikes with you if there were decent bike infrastructure...
