Fortunately, woodland creatures don't hire lawyers

  • It's just the meme-nitrogen cycle. What was once tied up in organic matter has mineralized (posted elsewhere on social media) and then converted to nitrite (discovered by OP) and transformed (posted) to plant (Lemmy) available Nitrate for plant (user) uptake.

Yeah... That's right, I just snuck a soil fertility micro-lesson into a meme comment section. Deal with it.

  • How much environmental damage from surface disturbance and tailings?

  • Only kisses Jenny

  • I was making a shitty joke, though it seems to have a grain of truth more recently.

I don't know enough about the red scare to really comment on it. McCarthyism didn't really happen in my country as much as it did in the US.

Coopting and infiltration of labour movements were partly responsible, but more so outsourcing/global competition (as you mention) and changes in dominant economic sectors played a big role too. On top of that retirement of former union members - those that saw what the benefits of unions were first hand - also cut down union interest gave corporations more power.

  • Damn right I do! Last time he broke into my house and started doing DMT under my bed with Bruce Lee

  • Honestly, I used to feel the same way for a long long time. I actually ended up getting into got it all vocals through bands like Svalbard, Brutus, thranenkind and enferens

That led to atmospheric black metal. Now I can enjoy bands like Uada but I have to be in the right mood

  • What a lot of people fail to realize is that mining and other blue collar industries were traditionally very left-leaning because capitalists would take away all their rights, pay them in scrip, etc. The companies only cared about the Almighty dollar (and still do), but were way less regulated than they are now. Those regulations are the result of unions, worker uprising etc.

It's supremely. Ironic to see workers in these industries now do an about face, because Joe Rogan told them to. An over simplification, sure, but the point remains.

  • Try Haunt - he can sing. Same with Night demon

  • I use tidal - they get a much better chunk out of the profits. There's another new one out there but I can't recall it's nsm

  • Ne Obliviscaris

  • I've got a bunch of recommendations scattered throughout the post. Give them a whirl

  • Try using gnoosic.com to suggest new artists. Its surprisingly old, but uses an algorithm. The algorithm predates AI by like a decade or something - it's just someone's nerdy pet project. It's recommended me bands that have 25 monthly listeners lol.

Clicking on the 'listeners also liked' thing on your streaming service is also a good way to find bands.

  • Try Vvilderness

  • If you like Type O, listen to Woods of Ypres

  • HDMI

    Jump
  • Lol facebook

  • Nerd.

  • Ow. My feeling (singular). I hope you liked the post anyway

  • I do post a lot, and in frantic spurts before life pulls me away.

I also categorically don't care. Crucify me if you will. A lot of artists put their signatures in the comics themselves. I don't have the willpower or desire to go on a hunt just to shitpost.

  • This is where I fit - really obscure tastes, but instead of gate keeping, I'm like a Jehovah's witness showing up at your door, pushing bands on you if you show even the slightest interest

  • I recommend Haunt. Eric Church can shred like a mofo
