  • Super funny story too:

~2020 Boeing outsourced the interior finishing work of Air Force one to a financially insolvent shell company 80% owned by the Saudi Arabian Government, GDC. GDC basically just took the money and did none of the work, lmao. Boeing got an extra $500 million of government funds out of it too when what they lost on that deal is an estimated $320 million. The whole program for delivering just two planes is ~2 billion over budget.

Allegedly the Saudi government diverted those payments for the Air Force One work to finishing their own 787-8 aircraft before dissolving GDC and abandoning the AF1 commitments, critical support for that maneuver

  • The tail number of the one being gifted to him is P4-HBJ, the initials of the former prime minister and incredibly wealthy royal Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani.

I fully expect him to change it to DJT or something.

Edit: Also, pretty sick if he flies around in this thing because the actual VC-25’s that are currently used as Air Force 1 and 2 are full of countermeasures and emp shielding. This one is a sitting duck as I presume it’s a bone stock luxury 747

  • Yep. Just a way of linking social media posts to an action most people are willing to take. Not everyone who is Anti-Israel can or will go to protests, so they gotta have some crumble of an action to arrest someone over their thoughts.

For the rest it’s a solid warning.

  • Mine was a few days ago, I don’t really have any tips except try and talk to people. They act extra nice when they find out it’s your birthday and that’s kinda nice. I can say or do weird shit and they give me more grace than usual.

  • The warehouse I work at hasn’t started using robot labor to replace humans on the floor yet thanks to the Unions, but they switched 4PL providers to one that uses some robot thing for load planning and it’s been a nightmare.

  • I really miss ordering the nice stuff direct from factories in China. Things like fountain pens, pencils, other art supplies I use, got a nice watch, etc.

Even with tariffs there are things I’m willing to pay +145% on because I already thought it was ridiculous the quality for price I could find compared to the other crap out there. Like my watch; 80 bucks, would turn into a little over 200 I think, and that’s still almost 300 less than an equivalent European made watch with the exact same movement and similar case materials.
