🦋⃟💙 This city makes me feel so small A million people in this town But I could scream without a sound So I get high to pass the time Talk to someone I met online To make myself feel less alone

  • I had a doctor explain to me that normally antidepressants help you heal and function.

But in my case my problems are very real and anyone would be severely depressed with my problems.

I tried them anyways, really improved my quality of sleep mostly but it also made it easier to piss me off. Overall they only did well to rescue me from extreme despair.

I think they are valuable tools and I wish access to them was ubiquitous to those in need.

  • Probably for the best this is a wendys.

  • Kool Stargate meme <3

Are you using the nvidia drivers and have your monitor connected to the gpu?

The 980 should be more than capable of a fully functional desktop experience, so after cleaning the dust it may have just been a heating issue.

  • Just a heads up. I would strongly suggest you don't recommend an ARC GPU on a motherboard missing rebar support. It's critical for them to run correctly.

Edit: Also another thought. 3rd gen was the era when things started to get UEFI support. Newer cards might not post on a legacy bios.

  • 3rd gen i7 platform will be your major bottleneck.

If the prices for ram weren't insane right now I'd suggest a whole new build depending on what games you're hoping to play.

Don't go with ARC as it's not compatible with that motherboard. You need resizable bar support and ideally an x8 pcie gen4 lane or better.

Since you're rocking Linux I would suggest sticking to AMD graphics.

What PSU are you using and games/software would you like to run better?

The 980 is pretty good for most purposes outside of modern games.

I'd suggest a new SSD and redoing the thermal paste on the cpu. Clean up the dust too.

  • I like sunny side up eggs. I dip my toast in it and then pepper the crap out of the whites and eat that with toast too.

  • This looks to be primarily focused on simplifying the stack for improving security and efficiency for a handful of edge cases.

I'd expect it to only be noticeable in scenarios where the software has been optimized for extreme i/o or significant context switching.

On an ordinary personal computer or a gaming computer probably nothing. For a server farm I could imagine this helping, but I can't put a % on it. As there's too much variance to speculate without hardware to experiment on.

  • Objective C was so much better I agree

  • 4o works fairly well on duck.ai I wonder if it'll go away soon too.

  • If you're using mullvad, why not also use their DNS? Just curious

  • They've been closing them down here and replacing them with pizza shops. So many pizza shops.

  • I'm just using the Firefox ESR client until its phased out.

  • Unicorn, that way I can live forever :o

  • Food service is worse.

So many rules and you're stressed out by management that feels 2 people can run an entire restaurant themselves.

  • I heard Japan is starting to get big in the cloud sector.

  • I hate this, thank you. <3

  • 11 Napoleon inches, I'd reckon.

  • Worst habit: eating at the computer.

Best habit: maintaining a personal calendar.
