Oh god the hate in this sub. It is definitely another tool for a dev to use. Like autocomplete or a lot of other stuff a good IDE does to help you.
If you don't want to use it, fine. Perhaps you're such a pro that you don't need anything but a text editor. If you're not, and you're ignoring it for whatever petty reasons, you'll probably fall behind all the devs who learned how to use it to get more productive (or, in developer terms, lazier)

Yeah… understandable. What really grinds my gears is that the whole world has to submit to these very American rules. The rest of the world doesn't believe you need to be an adult for swear words or a nipple, but we have to accept it.
That is a completely legitimate question. That you are downvoted says a lot about the current state of Lemmy. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the Musk hate, but it looks like a nuanced discussion on topics where Nazi-Elon is involved is currently not possibe.
This shitshow of an election is really getting on my nerves. This is not news, this is garbage speak out of a garbage person. And I have to read all these garbage headlines here because it is very much possibe that these garbage people will get elected. How low can you sink, america?
