  • There's one simple way to do it: stop milking it with ludicrous prices that make it inaccessible for the average consumer and stop trying to corner each implementation with your own proprietary closed market that becomes worthless when it goes down because all of your digital purchases were "digital subscription options". The problem with VR is that it now has a place in the market but one that is basically limited to a luxury market, and as such it will only include self enclosed ecosystems of novelty implementations that appeal largely to whales. It is basically an example of the hellhole the PC landscape would have been if governments back then had been as lax with bad consumer practices as they are now.

  • Basically every person with a job, usually and specially in this market.

  • The problem is that the guy would be a third party candidate, which means he would get treated as a sinkhole for the voters of the opposite party. This would work specially well for the GQP since they could just have a candidate adopt his ideology, throw a lot of money into news, media, and rallies to trump up support, and then easily turn around and just not fulfill it when they win. Meanwhile, there will be plenty of people in the other side of the flawed bipartisan system who will just blame democrats for not choosing their third party candidate regardless of the actual consequences voting third party has in USA's democratic facade of a system.

  • I'm sure the judge will recuse themselves to avoid any appearance of impropriety... /s

  • Which is ridiculous and more intended as a warning to the public given that the establishments that provide their bodyguards already have these sort of "hotlines" into law enforcement. They are just that afraid.

  • They made it easy for him to plead not guilty, given all the charges they were trying to topple on top of him.

  • If only more GQP congresspersons were like her.

  • People realize that he's just a propagandist saving face by playing both sides and now playing with the short attention span and memory of the idiots on the other side, right?

  • Why not mbin? Is it because PieFed is more reddit like?

  • You don't have to ask, you can just create this community, as long as it abides by the instance's community guidelines, and see how it goes. But you will also have to live with the drama it creates, and that may far outlast the community well after it closes. I can already tell you, the moment this community begins getting tracking is the moment you will also see those problem users creating their own versions of it to dispel your claims with their own point of view. This will polarize instances even more by those that allow these types of communities and those that don't.

  • That's why Pelosi chose them, specially over AOC. She's the other side of the US oligarchy, the one that's ok with the slice of cake they have now and don't want to push the US into a complete dictatorship just to try to get more. She's one of the people in the democratic party that's most abusing federal insider trading and conflicts of interests.

  • was intended to evoke terror

So basically, the whole premise of the American death penalty? As opposed to the deaths and bankruptcies that create terror that health insurance companies are allowed to promote, or the terror created by those who arrest mothers getting their health insurance appeals denied because they echo their mottos back to them to attempt to suppress any popular support at a revolution?

I will say, with Trump getting voted in, Americans have shit timing at their attempts at revolutions. This is the last millisecond type of stuff, quite lacking and even somewhat (but not very) controversial.

  • The problem is, you only would see the content that was removed. It is also extremely one sided. The modlog isn't what it was, and now they have removed legitimacy from it by removing the names of the mods and admins who did the enforcement, even though it was already relatively easy and straightforward to create a moderation alt. So you don't get the visibility of any moderator abuse either. There's also the fact that moderators and admins do lie.

A community dedicated to calling out power tripping mods exists because it affects everybody and there is no moderator of moderator decisions, save for admins who, if not part of the problem also have other problems to deal with. There is no power tripping user because users basically have no power. The counter to yepowertrippingbastards for users already exists, it's called being a moderator, and they get to "post" about it in a modlog where their and only their word gets posted, where they are allowed to do it anonymously under the cover of seeming but not actual unanimity, and where users don't get a chance to tell their side of the story. Mods also have their own internal groups to address concerns of problem users.

Having a public community about it both makes those moderators who participate seem even more insecure and would also be a source of drama as they try to create a new version of the modlog in community form while finding out communities are not homogeneous.

  • Is that a furry rule?

  • A nobleman went to a distant country to get royal power for himself and then return. He summoned ten of his slaves, and gave them ten pounds, and said to them, ‘Do business with these until I come back.’ But the citizens of his country hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We do not want this man to rule over us.’ When he returned, having received royal power, he ordered these slaves, to whom he had given the money, to be summoned so that he might find out what they had gained by trading.

The first came forward and said, ‘Lord, your pound has made ten more pounds.’ He said to him, ‘Well done, good slave! Because you have been trustworthy in a very small thing, take charge of ten cities.’

Then the second came, saying, ‘Lord, your pound has made five pounds.’ He said to him, ‘And you, rule over five cities.’

Then the third came, saying, ‘Lord, here is your pound. I wrapped it up in a piece of cloth, for I was afraid of you, because you are a harsh man; you take what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.’ He said to him, ‘I will judge you by your own words, you wicked slave! You knew, did you, that I was a harsh man, taking what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow? Why then did you not put my money into the bank? Then when I returned, I could have collected it with interest.’ He said to the bystanders, ‘Take the pound from him and give it to the one who has ten pounds.’

Then the fourth came, saying, 'Lord, I killed the rest of your slaves and used the pounds to make myself a cushy house, saying I did so in your name, and in this house, I formed a cult where I told my followers I was totally an expert and a legitimate authority on your will, and now dedicate that cult to ask you for even more handouts while I and my council of zealots get rich and live cushy lives off of their backs' He did not say anything to him, but left quickly, wondering how far his engineer's catapults were effective from.

  • I mean, people are still fueling the flames now for not voting Democrat because AOC is being shafted by the establishment, ignoring the bigger picture. When the GQP proves to be far, far worse, they will still be spouting something akin that both sides are the same. Part of it has to do because propaganda campaigns plays both sides and this is the way the side that could vote Democrat is played nowadays.

  • Most definitely, he isn't the unibomber largely indiscriminately killing people based on some ideological manifesto, he targeted someone in charge of driving many families into bankruptcy if not outright murdering patients with denials, and targeted a problem that many know to be true. They may be trying to rewrite the legacy of the CEO, but he was not "one of the good guys".

Although there is some crossover to the unibomber's manifesto, in the sense that where this would have been the breaking point in societies of the past waiting for a revolution, the new means of control and technology is being used to keep it under control, from all sides, even and specially those that abused social networks to put Trump in power. Can't have the status quo of "[I can] stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody [but not you]" challenged.

  • Surprised this isn't considered "advocating violence".

  • Definitely, it would at least establish a precedent if they aren't held, which is something Trump would then not be able to abuse.
