  • Ehhhh I see people with Nitro-included cosmetics but not a lot that have the individually-purchased cosmetics. They exist, sure, but not even close to as many.

    I mod a server with 40,000 users and I'm scrolling through the member list as I type this. Majority are either unsubbed accounts or they have the cheap basic Nitro. A lot of the cosmetics I am seeing are the free ones they've given away in recent events. Not many users have full Nitro and have their profiles all decked out with additional cosmetics.

  • They truly have zero clue how users actually use their software. Not a single person is going to use this just like every other stupid gimmick feature they've added in the past and then promptly removed.

  • You're not wrong, but that is not the point I was making.

    Adblocking YouTube is 100% the best option. I agree there. But if someone does want to pay for membership then YouTube is, by far, the best deal. Their competitors are absolutely horrendous.

  • And if you pay for Premium you get all features and zero ads. Many of the competitors have paid options that still include ads.

    Whether or not Premium is worth it is another debate entirely, but the fact of the matter is that it is simply a better deal compared to other streaming services.

  • I see so many other cyclists riding with their seat much too low, with their knees practically banging into the handlebars. By far the most common error I see.

    2nd would be people in the wrong gear. Going by at a snails pace with their legs all a blur.

  • They were much too big for my thumbs (going off the theme of the Deck in general being made for hands clearly bigger than mine). Too tall, too wide on top, and while I never had to deal with any drift - the deadzones suck to play games with. I keep a gamepad at my desk for racing and flying games and I switched it to a hall-effect gamepad about a year ago and I've never looked back. Potentiometer-based joysticks just feel like garbage in comparison and I think are inexcusable to use in a highend gaming product these days. I ended up using the touchpads instead for many things.

  • Poor ergonomics is actually a large reason why I sold my Deck. It is quite heavy and clearly made for hands bigger than mine, which made holding it for more than 20 minutes quite uncomfortable. Also the joysticks are just awful, awful, awful awful awful. Id say a hall-effect stick mod is basically mandatory.

    Also there is no way this is going to be legal to drive on public roads in most countries - just look at the massive tail boom that sticks out. This is just a fancy aircraft for people that want an overcomplicated Cessna.

  • They've become my top spot for housewares and appliances lately along with London Drugs. They also have a surprisingly decent hardware section which is becoming more and more important as Rona keeps scaling back their hardware. My local Rona removed an entire section from their pipe fittings wall and has no intention of bringing it back.

    Rona in general has really gone down the shitter, but that's another rant for another time.

  • Because most streets and roads here are way too wide and most people exceed the posted speed limit. Even after they made changes to the stroad people have continued to speed. There is basically no enforcement so the reduced speed limit hasn't really changed anything for drivers.

    But even if they did follow the limit - it still wouldn't change much. A 10kph reduction hardly impacts arrival times.

  • Agreed. I don't think any other base-building RTS has ever captured the scale and sense of large-scale warfare that SupCom has with maps measured in ten x tens of kilometers and hundreds of units spread across the ground, air, and water.

  • This. It is largely a class divide issue that is inflamed further by certain political groups. (Getting people to hate bike lanes makes for a great political distraction - see Ford in Ontario for a great example of this)

    The street I live on connects to a larger stroad that recently underwent a renovation to add in (protected!!) bike lanes, which meant the speed for cars was dropped and the lanes got narrowed a smidge. Naturally, many drivers acted like they were being violated and like their life was literally ruined and they complained and complained and complained.

    Now I'm a cyclist so I love those new protected lanes and they really do feel safer. But I do also drive and I have driven on that stroad before and after they made the changes... and it feels exactly the same. In fact, cyclists make basically no difference in my driving no matter where I am in the city except for when they have no dedicated lane and so they have to ride in the driving lanes. Funny that.

    The amount of time drivers actually spend interacting with cyclists is miniscule. This is very much a non-issue.
