  • Tone down social media use and do a little prepping. Learn how to use mylar bags and properly store away rice, beans, lentils, pastas, etc.

Prep as if the internet is going down for a prolonged time, maybe even electricity in general.

You can stress about things after you’ve gotten your shit together for a prolonged emergency.

Understand that this isn’t the end of the world, just the end of the world as we know it. Humans are notoriously lazy and selfish, it will take a worldwide calamity before we get our collective shit together and do what’s right.

The people in charge have failed us for their own selfish interests. There’s nothing else to do except prep and make a better tomorrow.

  • Always remember that once you sign the dotted line, there’s no changing your mind later. That’s the advice I received in the Navy from my Chief. This is where doing your homework really pays off.

When buying a car, try to plan ahead ten to twenty years. Most people don’t buy a new car every couple of years, so you’ll need a car that suits your needs for a long time.

Are you planning on getting married and having kids one day? Maybe a minivan. Do you do a lot of trade work? Maybe a pickup truck. Are you just trying to get from point A to point B? Maybe just a regular four-seat car. Planning ahead will save you headaches in the future.

Get something that’s easy to repair yourself, the spare parts are cheap, and are easily obtainable. Some brands are extremely difficult to fix yourself and that’s by design.

As for car internet privacy, I don’t know what to tell you.

  • Yet it seems like top Democrats in office are hardly doing anything about this. I feel they have abandoned us and gave up.

That’s because they have. For Democrats, winning elections is more of an unintended side effect to campaigning, raising funds, and making connections.

If Democrats hold the reins of power, they’ll be expected to do something with that power. Their rich donors don’t want Democrats to do what the voters elected them to do, so they invent BS reasons for why they won’t do it.

“Oh we may have a majority in the house and senate, but we don’t have a super majority. Sorry, we can’t do anything.”

“Oh that thing we said we were going to do? Whoops! Turns out an unelected parlamentarian that we’re the boss of says we can’t do the thing you wanted. Sorry.”

“Oh, executive orders are a thing? Well, we think it would be more respectful to the tradition of democracy if we had bipartisan support rather than just doing things unilaterally. Sorry.”

Democrats much prefer to be the minority party. That way they don’t actually have to do anything and can still fundraise and curry favor with elites.

  • My uncle is banned from any and all family functions. He’s an angry conspiracy whackjob, the prototype to the modern MAGA chuds. He was delusional, he was violent, and he would push his insane conspiracies onto everyone without consent.

Nearly every family get-together that he attended, he turned it into chaos, violence, and rage. The final straw was when he hard slapped my 8 year old little brother across the face for playing some phone game.

That was about ten years ago.Occasionally he’ll call my dad (his brother) asking for money or if he can visit, but dad never forgave him for the slap.

    1. A pallet of tissues for when their spouse and entire family disowns them.

    2. A good lawyer to defend them when they lash out and commit various crimes.

    3. A little American flag to wave patriotically as they destroy this country.

    4. A wheelbarrow to carry all of your cash to the grocery store as inflation is about to explode.

    5. Solar panels, compost pile, and an outhouse because basic infrastructure like electricity, plumbing, and waste removal are at risk of budget cuts and mismanagement.

    6. A tutor for the children as education is getting deep cuts soon.

    7. A good therapist to help work through all of that cognitive dissonance.

    8. A bicycle as the price of gas will skyrocket.

    9. A standard dictionary as basic terms and concepts elude them.

    10. A back brace as you’re going to have to pick your own crops from now on.

  • I think the general population of humans struggle to recognize, understand, and address large scale threats.

There’s the scientific community that’ll try to explain these issues to the general public in simplistic term. But they’re often overruled by dumb idiots in charge who store snowballs in their freezer as proof that climate change isn’t real.

There’s a belief that humanity needs to be brought to the edge of extinction to realize how bad things really are and to get their shit together. I don’t believe humanity would be willing to save itself from extinction as it’s just not profitable to do so.
