  • America might just be uniquely incompetent in this regard

Half of Canada's entire population lives in a completely straight line barely over 1,000 km long, serviced by a train that barely averages 100km/h on a good day and has to give way to freight trains

    It is sadly not unique

  • Petit boug pro car apologia? In my Hexbear? It's more likely than you think

  • before letting you out via the gift store full of DDR nostalgia to buy

    Holy shit you're not kidding

I went to check their online shop and it is entirely the kind of merch you'd expect to see in a pro socialist shop: plenty of Hero of Labour merch, Marx and Lenin stuff, a faux DDR passport notebook, that kinda stuff. There's a few things that border on either being actual anticommunism or possibly parody (like a sign saying "No Goods Today" in German), but none of it looks like it's meant to be ironic

Adding on as I look at more things: they sell a magnet celebrating the formation of the DDR (Republic Day, October 7th). I'm with you, there's no way this place isn't run by socialists

  • It's so powerful it broke out of the libs in America to infect everywhere else. The brewing Canadian election now has the Liberals accusing the Conservatives of being paid by Russian disinformation. The Cons are sketchy as fuck and not helping their own case either but now we also have the same "Everything I don't like is Russia" shit

  • Main reason I want to emigrate, no lie

The fact that the Windsor-Quebec corridor is barely faster than driving (and often far slower) for luxury prices (200+ dollars sometimes for roundtrip on a train averaging 80kmh on a good day) is insane to me, let alone that the rest of the US northeast/Canadian southeast border area is barely connected. It is a full 12 hour day of travel to get to New York from Toronto or Montreal, which should be a few hours of HSR tops

  • reaction if China tried shopping around a TV series or show that had some minor anti-US and pro-China sentiment?

I remember for a while that Hollywood was trying really hard to play to the Chinese market and so for a few years you actually did have films with positive leading rolls for China, with some like Arrival showing China as basically the good guys who made an honest mistake with the aliens, vs the US who's troops were listening to Alex Jones the entire time and ready to massacre the aliens

Of course chuds lost their shit with these kinds of movies. How dare we show a Chinese person as being normal, Hollywood must be bought out as Chinese propaganda

    It's just gonna get worse

  • English signs itself isn't always sus

It is 100% sus when the country isn't English. It implies the signs are there to beg for American support, not for support within their own borders (or from neighbours and allies)

  • Or in the dead of winter with bare trees and snow up to your shins, in the evening though so there's no sun

  • Liberty Prime would be a better satire if it wasn't, canonically, incredibly useful to saving the Wasteland. In lore it was meant to be an impractical boondoggle that cost so much money it fucked the American people over, but in game it's a useful weapon of war used to kill fascists and take back a water purifier

Would've been a better satire if they'd taken the voice module out and drawn attention to how annoying the jingoism was, or if it didn't even work at all and all it did was spout jingoisms
