  • Directly from many venues. And some ticket sellers that aren't owned by them. Some smaller venues use them, and some artsier places.

But for the mega concerts, I just don't go where Ticketmaster holds the venue contract. I fly and see who I want elsewhere.

  • I use World Stream for many of my storage VPSs. They have pretty cheap servers that can take 14x or 18x drives. So I use their super powerful Epycs plus storage and then they can do an internal LAN only network for your boxes at 10G. 140TB to 200TB per box, connected to the rest of my stuff at 10G.

Their support is opposite of Hetzner. Everything is communicated. It's almost too much. You get emails that they're updating the air conditioning unit in a different building. Your downtime is zero. I've had some questions on setting up my rack space with them, and engineers respond back, not sales.

  • Haven't bought anything on Ticketmaster or their owned companies in years. And I generally go to 2 to 5 live shows a month.

This and their policy towards VPNs means I won't support them.

  • You know what sucks? Getting your VPS shut off or account suspended. All your data gone in an instant, not recoverable. You don't have access to the metal, and the metal no longer has access to you.

Hetzner is known for randomly boinking accounts. You update billing info? Whoops maybe shutoff. You login via a VPN, account disabled. Just randomly for no reason, account locked and VPS down.

You have basically zero recourse. Their support staff suck and the immediate reaction is suspend and delete. NEVER use them for anything you don't consider temporary.

  • Who do I believe, you or my lying eyes? And I'm no trumper. This administration purposefully skews the numbers. I get why, but it's so obvious I don't see how you can fall for it. Everything is 20.6% to 50%+ more expensive. Some people got wage increases. MOST did not. Even if you got a few percent here or there, you're spending more for the same stuff. That's not better off. That's inflation eating your salary gain, or non gain, more than just a lower or flat salary.

Less than half of people who got new jobs since the pandemic got "the same or more pay". That means of the jobs created, half lost wages. Looking at simple shareholder data for companies employee wages went up a few percent, like always. Meaning on aggregate, wages up with standard levels of inflation. Which is what Biden pushes.

Factor in the actual consumer price index, it's clear to see.

For me personally, as well as every single human I know and interact with personally, EVERYONE, is worse off. A 7% mortgage vs a 3% mortgage is a huge killer.

Stocks are up. Great if you're selling. That's not a long term economy, that's short term gains.

  • It's like how 95% of the "Chinese" places you go probably have General Tsaos chicken. It is not Chinese. Invented in Murica for Muricans. Deep fried sushi is the same. The restaurants in the US offer it because others offer it and the American pallet likes it.

You would be promptly murdered in Japan for asking for such a dish. Probably being the reason the restaurant puts up a "no foreigners allowed" sign from then on, which is actually common.

Same county that loves Tempura, but deep fried sushi is sacrilegious. Go figure.

  • So... 3 to 4% of the population. Still, a good number if you're Joe I guess.

  • My Firefox is sitting happy eating about 30GB of RAM right now...

  • Who wants to bet he received a nice lump sum deposit of cash from a five eyes state to make an "accident"...

  • You open the command prompt during initial setup, change the oobe. It reboots, then no Microsoft account.

  • I know! They don't allow women to control their own bodies. Having to travel thousands of miles for medically required procedures when their lives are in danger. Women fear for their loves walking down the street. Crime is rampant. Humanitarian rights down the drain supporting genocide of an entire people...

Oh wait. That's the USA. Hmm.

  • BBB is actually really good nowadays compared to where it started. I've got quite a few deployed hardware appliance designs with them baked in. The real time IO and subprocessor was a nice quick and dirty way to get a little psuedo FPGA

  • Exactly. Nobody should be ok with random data being given out "just in case". This should be illegal and never happen. But it is perfectly acceptable in today's subpoena world and that's a scary thing.

The agent could have done the same thing in many different ways to get an ip address. It's also concerning that agents are still using IP address as a vouch of identity in 2024.

  • Just in time to overthrow the US Whitehouse... Again. We burned it down once before, we'll do it again

  • Is this bad? Yes.

Now please read about Texas rewriting the US history to say things like slavery wasn't bad and they got a lot out of it too. Or if you're American, lookup the actual winner of the war of 1812 and why it started. And for that matter look up the real reason those founders dumped the tea and what that tax was for.

History is written by the winner. Always has been.

  • Yeah, and that's also wrong. The shitheads in blue should not get access to any private video feeds.

  • They do have the power and they do compel US companies to do exactly this. When discovered publicly they usually limit it to the first level of the "vulnerability" until more is discovered later.

It is not conjecture, there is leaked documents that prove it. And anyone who works in semiconductor design (cough cough) is very much aware.

  • NATO border idiot

  • It doesn't matter if you're pro Murica or pro Russia. It's a bit disingenuous to say Russia is arming the border! When the border has literally moved thanks to the Nordic countries getting into NATO and no longer being neutral.

For example if Russia and Mexico formed an alliance, then the US lined the Mexican border with guards, tanks, anti aircraft, etc... That would make defensive sense. It also would not be fair to be portrayed as "USA returning to Mexican American War of 1848 posture, tripling troop counts on the border". No it's a very predictable and publicly shared outcome of a very predictable and publicly occurring series of events.
