  • Sounds like the Linux user only ever used AMD cards.

You still need to download the drivers for nVidia. One of the top noob questions is "which one?" because there are several options without real explanation... At least on Ubuntu based distro, which a lot of new users will be sent to (i.e. Mint).

The experience with AMD cards seems to be the above; plug in and it just works immediately.

But don't even get me started on Intel cards. Jeezus Effing Kristus. I got mine working, but it's still a damned issue and a half. And you'll have to go driver hunting if you want to do anything artistic with them, which is an absolute rabbit hole on Ubuntu distros. But mercifully much more simple on Fedora and Co.

  • Manic *pixel AI girlfriend.

  • The big deal is that development time is put into these... Uh... "features".

  • Yes, and us unionists are fighting back. What, do you think we're all just sitting on our arses with our heads up rectums?

If a fascist takes over the Danish government I'm going to riot, and I know which friends to call on to make it happen too.

  • Rather arrogant to believe the US falling means the decline of our entire civilisation.

  • Ssssnnniiiifffffffff

    Aaaahhhhhhhhhhh!

I love the smell of child exploitation in the morning.

  • Haha hahahaha! Space Cadet Pinball on a top downloads list. Hey, old friend, how've you been?

  • Nah, checked Wikipedia. Germany is one of the countries that entirely blocks the site.

Luckily I live in Denmark, and Denmark doesn't block the archive. So when I'm back home I'll certainly be checking it out.

  • Heh, like wine tasting.

  • "address not found"

  • Unfortunately, the company I work for uses Salesforce to supply equipment to me and my colleagues.

I've not been able to log in with my given credentials to order winter gear.

    This... Explains a lot.

  • Jpegs can make images with very small sizes that aren't noticeably worse in quality (unless you go to incredibly low compression).

They're good for uploading as a final image when there's no transparency necessary.

Obviously, you don't want to be working with jpegs if you're an artist and still in the process of making the final image.

  • Well, we saw him capable of impersonating the captain's voice with 100% accuracy, create a long ass command code, and give himself full command of the ship while locking out all senior staff.

That was after he caused an atmosphere issue on the bridge and made everyone clear out.

So I would way... Within seconds.

  • Being a driver complaining about congested roads while there exists the option of biking or public transport is being a hypocrite.

    Take these two scenarios:

Scenario A: You're in Denmark, or The Netherlands, two countries with good public transport and bicycle infrastructure. But instead of taking those, you choose to drive, and complain there is congestion.

Scenario B: You're in the United States. Public transport sucks, bicycle infrastructure is nonexistent. You support both of those things, but you're still forced to drive everywhere, and complain about congestion.

One of these two things is hypocritical, the other isn't.

The person owning the iPhone complaining about Apple is a hypocrite. The last two panels aren't.

  • I'm not defending the character. I'm saying the argument being made here is weakened by including something that can be avoided, like an iPhone, as opposed to the other situations which were unavoidable.

  • Huh, and here I am still running Juletide.

  • It bothers me that fifty is written out as a word but eighty isn't. It's just one letter more. Either do 50, 80, or fifty, eighty.

  • The character is critiquing individuals for their hypocrisy. He is not negating the facts. He's pointing out those that are living under certain conditions contribute to the condition they are living under despite complaining about it.

This premise works fine with seatbelts and monarchies because the individual doesn't have a choice. But falls apart when presenting something where the individual does have a choice.

Then character in this comic presents the individuals as part of the problem they are complaining about, assuming there is some alternative way. I think you've missed that part.
