  • Well, I use an XP Pen display tablet, so effectively a second monitor. I've used both Krita on Ubuntu using X11 (in 2024 and before) and since the start of 2025 been using Bazzite which uses Wayland.

Can't say I've run into any display specific issues. Pen tracking gave me some trouble, but it was some setting in KDE and Open Tablet Driver I had to play with to fix that.

  • I like the UI of Krita. Gimp is... Uh... Gimp. But Krita is certainly a modern drawing program.

  • Krita is aimed at Clip Studio Paint. It's not great for quickly editing something.

  • That's... Certainly a strange and oddly specific thought...

  • Hey, I recognised that reference.

  • Exactly this.

The few times fleet actions were called upon The Enterprise had to basically travel a whole day to get there, if not more (big example; Wolf 359. Star Trek Nemesis).

  • Obvious ragebait is obvious.

  • Ssssiiiiiiggggghhhhh

So... GOG taking a step forward with their Linux plans, then immediately slipping sideways on a banana peel and straight into a burning dumpster.

  • A good stew. Most expensive ingredient will be the osso-buco, or any similar meat-on-the-bone.

You cook the meat, bone and all, till the marrow melts out. Vegetables can be... Anything. One pot can last you a week and it's a real hearty meal.

  • It's a Hades rogue-like and a colony management game. But it's not deep on either front.

The combat and rogue elements don't come close to a dedicated rogue-like game as Hades.

The colony management doesnt come close to the depth of a dedicated management game.

It is centred around the novelty of a taboo: managing and dictating a cult. There are plenty of little things to do besides the two pillars of the game, but it doesn't take long for you to have "seen it all".

Mind you, this doesn't mean the game isn't fun. But it's very light on its individual gameplay mechanics compared to dedicated games.

  • I would've loved to see this game come out back then. The pearl clutching would've probably broken a few knuckles.

  • Fuck that. I opened the game and the first thing that came to my mind was "let's see how close I can get to a literal blood and sex cult".

Not that close, I found out.

Or at least, a very tame version of it.

  • People are still ordering things online. Inside works (i.e. Warehouses, factories, offices) still go on.

  • Then make it a week. It starts with someone. It could start with you.

  • Debt is not a real resource, it's a complete fabrication, and all the richest people have a value that doesn't exist in real world resources, rather a perceived agreed upon value of what their assets might cost, based on the vague idea that it will appreciate in value in the future, and the debt cycle that may continue printing money for banks.

So most money isn't based on anything. And the value of currency these days is entirely fiat.

  • Or more to the point; money is the problem. Currencies are useful tokens that make trade more convenient. But systems have been built around the simple concept of a trade token that a person can have power over others by just having a bigger number.

But it's just a number. Most of the time a number that doesn't even represent anything real or physical. Just a number of a hypothetical thing(s) that has a certain hypothetical value because someone said so.

  • Oh. So it's going to get vibe-coded. Well... Fuck.

  • Heroic has some issues (i.e. Stellaris) that require some sort of annoying work around that doesn't really work sometimes. GOG could not have those issues.

Heroic is limited to just GOG and Epic, while GOG Galaxy on Windows is already trying to be a sort of everything launcher. This means GOG Galaxy on Linux would be more like a replacement of Lutris (which is no longer being developed) than Heroic.

  • French mustard is better.

  • That's what the Portuguese and the Dutch did. By the time the British finally defeated the Dutch in... like... the seventh war, the spice trade was no longer the most profitable. It was then the Atlantic Triangle... or whatever it was called.
