  • That's a lot of assumptions based on those two words I said. But for real though, why are we arguing the semantics when we're both in agreement that Russia's invasion of Ukraine and Israel's genocide of Palestine are both atrocities that need to be stopped as soon as possible

  • Because we aren't? The generation with all the power are those who grew up when The Jeffersons was considered breaking new ground by starring an all-black cast. The people who grew up with FG and SP are just barely turning 30

  • Luigi disagrees

  • Damn, traffic was that bad huh?

  • I'd argue that for at least half of them, capitalism is just a stepping stone to their true goals. They didn't opportunistically become fascist; they've always been that way

  • Which Russia is not attempting to do

Okay Botski, then what about this?

  • The internationally recognized, legal definition of a genocide is 'the deliberate or systematic destruction, in part or in whole, of a national, racial, ethnic, or religious group' including (among other things) the forcible transfer of children from one group to another. And Russia has been trying very hard for a while now to erase Ukrainians from eastern Ukraine and replace them with Russians.

  • Or the magical withdrawal he must have been going through for at least several decades after Bilbo got it

  • I wouldn't say the atrocities in Gaza or the Donbas are EQUAL, no, not at all. For one thing, the Ukrainians are actually allowed to fight back without being labeled as terrorists. But Russia's goals (and some actions, mostly conducted earlier in the conflict) certainly fit the definition of genocide

  • That's a good point. Not what I was trying to do but it probably came off as that way to some. Thanks for the insight

  • I mean... both would be opportunistically, but that wasn't my point. I support a free Palestine, I'm on your guys' side (despite the downvotes)! I was just trying to say that Russia's condemnation of one genocide doesn't really mean shit in my opinion, especially while enacting their own genocide barely 1000 miles away.

    tl;dr I was shit-talking Russia, not Palestine

  • Lizard raping?

  • Me trying to talk to any girl

  • To be slightly balanced, Russia doesn't give a shit either way, they just voted opposite of the US. Still though, the point isn't lost on me

  • Fractals all the way down

  • Got a couple examples?
