Imma gonna call him winnie the pooh all I want and you can't stop me

  • Hahahah yeah. I thought that meant i wasn't ASD as well.

Don't listen to that. It's wrooooong

  • ND person with an ongoing medical condition causing issues. It can and will delay/cloud diagnosis while actively fritzing up your day to day life.

You know how many ND people have cptsd just from living in an NT world with NT expectations? How many people with ADHD will be diagnosed as having a general anxiety disorder over discovering they're ADHD? How many ASD people are being tagged as emotionally immature?

When we are pushed beyond our stress capacity - a capacity that is already half loaded simply by existing in an NT world - we get misdiagnosed and pathologised like whoa.

22 years? Ha! It never even entered anyone's head i was ASD until i was 35, despite textbook symptomology and behaviours. Because i was a married female with a career.

  • Nope. Nooooope. Nope nope noope

  • Fun, but not civilised

  • Hahahha my hubs is adhd, i'm asd, the overlap is where we found each other long before respective diagnoses :P

  • God damn you have the workplace of dreams

  • Ugh I feel you. When I hit the limit my vocal subprocessor just shuts right the fuck down. And of course especially in moments in high emotion everyone is TALK TO ME and it's like I literally friggin' can't and your insistence is NOT HELPING.

That workplace is a helluva keeper. And they're right, professionalism is leaving your own biases at the door, which includes neurotypical ones. It's just rare to see it actually applied!

  • thank you. I was having that friggin' moment where you're not sure if someone's back chatting you or you're just ASD skating past some hidden meaning in their comments - the whole damned thread was "everyone has this, you're not special" then why are we the ones getting pathologised for it???

  • You literally claimed this can't be a national problem because baawww two states.

Those two states hold the majority of the population of the nation. Hell, their individual capital cities alone hold about double the entirety of WA. Combined, they make up over half the country - as in nearly 60% of our entire population. What friggin' metric do you need for something to be considered national?

  • Fuck em. Last time i bought a samsung ssd it went from 100% to 20% SMART overnight and just outside warranty
