Going with this one. I blame Ghost World for starting my obsession with Indian music of all kinds. Started with Bollywood, into traditional sitar music. My playlists now regularly includes music from everywhere that I don't understand a word of. 😅

I think you're reading a little too much into the comment you're replying to. I didn't vote for Trump but I'm still embarrassed to have him as our president. Although... outraged to the point of exhaustion would be more accurate.
Just to say, this is on par with how many dictatorships are run. Spur of the moment decisions and edicts, with no actual protocol or procedures behind them beyond "this is a thing now".
That way when you can't comply, you can be arrested, despite not being able to comply even if you wanted to.
They may decide one day you now need a certain license to practice your profession, but there are no forms or procedures to obtain this license. If you contact the head of that department you are ignored. However, if the govt wants to shut you down at any point (say if you happen to be publicly dissenting) they can officially say it's because you don't have that license. The one that is impossible to obtain.
Of course you continue to work, you've got to earn a living, but now maybe you'll keep your head down so the govt hopefully stays off your back.
I've kept it vague on purpose but it's a real example that I've witnessed in an actual dictatorship. Not that the US was ever perfect, but the past year should be alarming to everyone who isn't a fascist.

Humans like to anthropomorphize everything. It's why you can see a face on a car's front grille. LLMs are ultra advanced pattern matching algorithms. They do not think or reason or have any kind of opinion or sentience, yet they are being utilized as if they do. Let's see how it works out for the world, I guess.
I saw a comic reposted on Lemmy about 2 worms and the presumably female worm asks her partner "Would you still love me if I was a big booty Latina?".
Apparently that comic itself is a commentary on another recent trend of women on Tiktok asking their partners if they would still love them if they were a worm.
So, a few layers there. Not entirely sure if related, or just confirmation bias, but seeing the phrase "Big Booty Latinas" here on Lemmy twice in as many days seems more than coincidental. 🤔
Off topic but the fact that anyone still banks there, and that they're even still allowed to operate, is just crazy to me.
