  • Excellent points. You are, however, presuming that Americans will act within their own best interests. Or that they’re capable of following basic math over the illusion of freedom given by ICE vehicles. Americans will transition, but I’m not optimistic it’ll be at a reasonable pace.

  • I knew I liked those 404 folks. I might need to upgrade to a paid subscription.

  • Don’t be evil.

  • Give Amtrak the right of way on all tracks… is the demand I would make if I were the transportation secretary.

    Alas, I am not.

  • “Something changed” is an off ramp for those who are in too deep to back out without a mental crisis caused by accepting reality. More then they deserve, but it’s a way out while saving face.

  • Ah, yes… transitions are lovely, and modern CSS is quite the magician. But really, must the author sneer so theatrically at SPAs? His disdain bleeds through every paragraph. One might almost suspect he’s less interested in performance… and more in winning an argument.

  • Wait a second… didn’t he have a thing for Sarah Silverman?

  • Eh, let’s swap air density for deflectors, and drag for the warp bubble.

But… do you need deflectors at warp? Isn’t the bubble folding space around the obstacles you’d typically need deflectors for?

  • That… and the damage to subspace caused by speeds over Warp 5, which soon gets forgotten about.

  • Didn’t read the article, I just assumed this was the answer…

  • Basically Christian Whitehead and a rag-tag group of fans saved the franchise, and it’s been slipping back into old patterns since. Frontiers introduced interesting ideas, but the next game needs to build on that, which, let’s be honest, it won’t.

Just give the franchise to the fans at this point.

  • I realize you’re getting downvoted with a lot of comparisons to Japan, and I wanted to lend a real life example.

In Chicago, it’s not uncommon for the parking space to have a separate title not tied to the people who live there, and each vehicle also has to register for a city sticker, which is basically an annual tax. Most parking is street parking, a house would have like 2 spots in the alley, but that might be for a 2 unit building.

It’s not the same as what others are suggesting, but a bit scaled back from what Nashville is requiring.
