  • Oh wow. They are way out of their depth here. Best of luck to them, I’m expecting a shallow mobile game in the future.

  • Just because you can tolerate the cold, doesn’t mean you wouldn’t prefer it warmer.

  • I don’t disagree with you, but that’s the same for almost anything if consideration for others is thrown out the window.

  • It sounds like we’ve had drastically different experiences.

I’m saying they are better than fine, and a great technology for mobility as an alternative to cars for single riders, and if paired with other methods of transport (busses, light rail) they’re a fantastic last mile solution.

I’ve personally nearly been run over by bike riders going way too fast on the streets of Amsterdam, I doubt the extra 20lbs of a battery would have made a difference in the danger there. Lack of education, personal responsibility, and enforcement doesn’t equate to a wonderful technology being discouraged for those who would most be positively impacted, and I personally think they’re a fantastic way to encourage a decline in the number of cars in the road in urban environments.

Your points aren’t invalid, and I agree a self centered asshole zooming around at 25mph is an issue in a crowded sidewalk, but I think that speaks more of our current post-covid society of selfishness than the technology itself.

  • What I enjoy about Q is that he seems to adapt to the environment he’s in and who he’s with. Spoilers be ahead, but I think we’re past that.

    • In TNG he’s the ultimate antagonist to Picard’s intellect and diplomacy. This energizes him.
    • Sisko is a half god who punches Q. He backs off and goes back to the playful one.
    • Janeway is a cold hearted killer who tells Q what’s up helps Q navigate a conflict and bring factions together, much like they premise of Voyager.
    • Mariner most likely encountered Q as a child on the Ent D, so he has a playful and respectful report with her.
    • Not touching Picard S2, although there were some fun parts
    • Assuming T is Q jr from Voyager (not canon and BTS contradicts this, but it’s my current head canon), it’s logical that Q is more “mature” at this point, and doesn’t want to alter the timeline any further. Also, I love this as it nods to John’s head canon from S1 of TNG.
  • He most likely created this timeline… we’re living PIC S2…

  • I’m assuming you don’t live in a hilly area. As someone who rides for recreation around areas with steeper inclines, my ebike has been a gateway to outdoor activity I would have otherwise avoided. Now I’m not zooming on trails inconsiderately, and that is a problem, but from a technology standpoint they’re kind of the best of both worlds when used responsibly.

  • Give it to him now? Like, I know he’s doing his own thing with death stranding, but for me a Kojima story and gameplay might be the best way to continue the meta-matrix world post resurrections. Doesn’t have to be an MMO.

  • So this is basically v3, and they’re trying to gain critical mass adoption vs Adobe.

I’m happy with my v2 for now, but I have a hunch if I migrate to “3” I’ll be modifying my hosts file in the future.

  • I don’t think I did originally, but I don’t recall secure boot being an issue with it when I did do the switch. I may have had to install a key or something, but I honestly don’t remember.

I’ve had driver issues with Fedora 42 under secure boot (RTX 3060ti), and Ubuntu seems to be the winner so far that’s playing nice with everything. I haven’t run into any gaming issues yet besides the latest Sonic Racing game not starting.

I love the philosophy of Atomic distros like Kinoite and even run Bazzite on my AMD living room “console”. I’d recommend them all day long to folks new in the space since they’re hard to break by design - especially Bazzite for a gaming machine if invasive anticheat isn’t needed - but it’s not for me.

  • I actually just switched to Ubuntu 25.10 from Bazzite. Can you recommend me other (non atomic) distros that play nice with both secure boot and nvidia drivers? I don’t think fedora does. I’m not interested in managing keys and certs for my drivers, and do occasionally play those anti-cheat games on a dedicated windows partition. I’d rather not toggle secure boot each time I reboot.

  • To this day I still don’t understand the appeal of gaming laptops outside of maybe college kids. Phenomenal calculation power, itty-bitty airflow space.

  • Which is ambiguous.

For example, when Detroit or other American plants are retooling for another model, the shutdown is typically longer and it’s announced ahead of time what they’re shifting production to.

This article contains a lot of personal opinions on the vehicle (which I agree is overpriced for the market), but the only fact in the article is that the plant will shut down for four days. The headline could be correct, but it’s not backed up by the information in the article.

  • Is there any other source that backs up this headline, because the article it’s attached to clearly doesn’t.

Temporary line shutdowns like this are fairly common in the automotive industry, just ask anyone from Detroit. An adjustment to meet demand does not mean the line is canceled and everything is doom.

  • This is quickly becoming my favorite daily guessing game. I didn’t fully understand attempts though, I thought you had to insert each letter individually on mobile due to the helper text being cut off.

  • Not just embarrassing, but confirmation that XBox is dead and Microsoft is woefully out of touch with gamers. I doubt the 19.99 GamePass can save it.

  • It’s about time. Houses next, please.

  • If you do find yourself using Gmail, I’d like to share with you a reminder that you can simply use a Mail client and bypass all ads and tabs nonsense.

  • The Bazzite console I built which is connected to my living room TV stands in contradiction. The Linux-driven gaming PC that’s sitting on my desk is confirmation.

Windows 11 and the forced obsolescence of hardware is leaving a sour aftertaste, and at this point a game maker essentially has to choose to not support Linux via Proton.

You might not be able to run Battlefield or CoD, but Marvel Rivals and Overwatch run particularly well, if not better on Linux.

And with Microsoft entering the handheld market, this is very much a question of Linux vs Windows for gaming.
