Not 100% sure this would work, but what I'd try is to create a new save within the game on the emulator (using the game's functionality, not a savestate) and shut down the emulator. Then find the resulting save file and replace it with the file from the physical cart, giving it the same file name as the file you're replacing. The emulator should automatically find that and load it when you start up the game.
According to the page, that's using an imaginary unit called "international dollars" (which I just learned exists), which is used for comparing countries' economies. It doesn't reflect the real amount in US dollars. In US dollars the median US salary is just under $60,000. https://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/wkyeng.pdf
On mine it appears to be a regular setting under the display options called "camera cutout". I do have developer options enabled though, so maybe that doesn't appear for people who don't.
Android (or at least my Galaxy) has a setting that lets you disable the portion of the screen where the notch is, which makes it essentially identical to a phone with no notch.
Agreed, I don't hate it, but to me it's like I'm just eating pineapple and pizza at the same time. I love both, but eating both at once doesn't add anything for me and I don't think the tastes go together very well. I'd enjoy either one more on its own.
The Dune books have a lot of material on that subject
