  • With bathing, water recirculation is more easily accepted.

  • I think before modern plumbing it was quite normal for more people sharing a bath one after the other, or going to large bath houses. The house I grew up in from the early 1900s didn't have a bathroom and people would handwash and occasionally fill a bath in the kitchen. (We had a shower built in, but it was obviously not part of the original design)

  • I thought our dog was a good guarddog, as he always barks at anyone near our front door or our tent when we are camping. Until I woke up in the middle of the night because a fox was trying to eat the food in our tent and my dog was just lying there chill as fuck. I had to shout to get the fox to leave.

  • I had massive hesitations about getting a dog, both from a climate and an animal welfare point of view. Even so, it was the best decision of my life and my furry friend has helped me through some very rough patches. His main food is kibble with chicken, as the least climate impactful meat source and he only gets an occasional snack with other meats (which are probably mostly meat waste products). It is impossible to live perfectly for the climate and environment and this is the one sin I will allow myself as it has such a positive impact on my life and wellbeing.

  • The dutch had an election last week and seemed to shift from extreme right to more middle ground parties, with "dutch trump" losing his majority and two center parties gaining loads of votes. Now they just need to find a way to form a working government with 4 (or even 5) different political parties needed for a majority.

  • I hate how hard it is to tell what's up with my dog. Was convinced yesterday he had tummy problems because he wasn't eating much, but was playing and walking happily. Finally noticed he spent a lot of time licking one paw and found a thorn hidden between his toes that had probably been there since the night before. Like please tell me where the pain is, my boy, because apparently I'm terrible at guessing.
