  • The roast chicken is usually not an egg creating machine though. They are fairly young male chickens, that have been raised just past their maximum growth rates.

I guess that wouldn't have been that much different in medieval times. The difference nowadays is, that we have specialized breeds for egg-laying or meat production vice versa and the respective 'wrong' sex of each will just be 'discarded' right after hatching.

  • Well my main hurdle is, that I don't have any income right now. I've had 4 jobs in the last 10 years after finishing university, none of which lasted longer than 15 months, due to recurring health issues.

If also never lived in the same place for more than 4 years. (except my parent's house)

So even if a bank would give me a loan, my confidence that I could manage to pay that off is pretty low. Which is kind of a sad state to find yourself in, in your late 30s.

I learned some of the math in uni for my engineering degree, but that was focussed on enterprises, where it makes sense if you generate revenue and get a return of investment to pay off the loan for that investment. I probably need to switch perspective, to actually appreciate it as a tool for cutting expenses in my daily life. If the day comes, where that won't be purely hypothetical.

But still, I think that only applies to stuff like housing, where you have recurring cost, that could be lower (even if it's just in the long run) or maybe a car, that you need to get to a job, where it basically enables you to make more money. I don't see any other cases, where it really makes sense to pay interest on anything.

  • Care to explain? I got raised differently and avoid financing like the plague, but I'm coming to the realization that I won't be able to do that forever.

How do you think it can be a net positive? Your insight might help me cope.

  • Then why are people using this bugger everywhere: 😂

Like theyre actually laughing to tears when they see something remotely funny. I don't buy it

  • Mind = Blown

  • HOW?!

  • They're onto something though.

'Trains of thought' is a good metaphor, because your thoughts do run on rails, and they do track improvement and maintenance each time you use one pathway.

That's why it's not that simple, to just think positively, and maybe you need antidepressants to even do that. But it's part of therapy to try to leave those trails more often and lay new tracks that lead to more positive places so you hopefully won't need antidepressants for the rest of your life.

  • Afaik. My flight instructor advises a strict diet of brussels sprouts, kidney beans, onions and Jalapeno chilies.

  • It will never be enough for anal aviation, but if you want to move stuff with your body heat, check out stirling engines.

  • And Tre was only born in Germany, and I'd bet my Lederhosen, that had something to do with the US military presence here [in Germany]. He grew up in the US though, and even though he may be not eligible to become president, he's just as American as the rest of the bunch.

  • I learnt a lot through Russell Barkley's youtube Channel. A retired ADHD researcher.

    https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0tLWu7ljYVFPiZQfHjTMsA

He has also retired his Channel now, so no new content. But that's recent, so his videos aren't too outdated and I learned a lot about ADHD through them without having to weed through misinformation.

  • Installier halt einfach Arch, dann weißt du wenigstens, was du tust.

Gefühlt sogar mehr top-down.

    Bundes-CDU macht Stimmung wegen Landtagswahlen?

  • Because not everywhere is as mild as Alabama.

  • Dude's just trying to coerce 18-24 year-olds into having sex with him.

    It's not very effective.

Lets give him the benefit of the doubt.
