A thinking person might recognize that, in its monopoly on violence, the state automatically retains a universal purview, as violence is always the negotiation technique of last resort.
IIRC, China has something like 80+ times the shipbuilding capacity of the US. Towards the end of WW2 when the US was kicking the shit out of Japan and obliterating their production capacity, they had something around 9 times the capacity. China's just using it mostly to build container ships, but if they wanted to make carriers (though I have heard people smarter than me say carriers aren't as important as they used to be) they absolutely could. It wouldn't be 100% straightforward because obviously container ships are pretty simple, but it'd be a hell of a lot less of a problem than it would be for the US to spool up production.
It's so cool how I can add "entry level" into my job search query, set the required experience to "entry-level," and not find a single job that has no experience required in the hour I put into job hunting today. Software development? No. IT? Still no. Lineman? Not here. Just a job, any fucking job that pays enough for a single person to live in a 400 sq ft apartment without roommates? Never. It's so cool how fucking worthless degrees are.
I've got plenty of friends. Roughly ~12 people I'd consider "close" friends and none of them really know anybody to introduce me to. All of the guys know almost only guys, because they don't have girlfriends, because their friends almost only know guys, etc.
Yeah, I know about that. I max out on volume, but I don't think my "rate" is really all that bad. It's not like I'm swiping right on everybody I see. It depends on the day, but I'd say I'm swiping right somewhere between 1/4 and 1/8 times.
Yeah, seems reasonable to me. Sort of like the Spanish Armada, a bigass boat can be a double edged sword.
