  • At least desktop Firefox has something similar. Add a bookmark for e.g. "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%s" with the keyword "wiki", then when you type "wiki qwant" into the address bar you'll get the Wikipedia page.

    I guess it's easier if you don't have to bookmark each search first, but at least for sites you search often I don't see the need for search engine provided bangs.

    edit: As mentioned in another comment, there's a newer way where you just right-click a search box and go to "add keyword".

  • Ein ordentlicher Nur-Hybrid wie im Prius (Hybrid Synergy Drive) ist nicht wesentlich komplexer als ein herkömmlicher Verbrenner, nur halt etwas anders aufgebaut. Und seit vielen Jahren verfügbar und genauso wie ein anderes Auto nutzbar, mit deutlich niedrigerem Verbrauch außer wenn man nur Vollgas über die Autobahn brettert.

    Andere Hybrid-Systeme sind wohl weniger effizent, und der Plugin-Hybrid setzt nochmal eins drauf, weil man extra Ladekram braucht und einen größeren und schwereren Akku, damit sich das externe Laden auch lohnt. Das negiert dann den Hybrid-Vorteil teilweise und man muss viel Strom laden um dadurch den Benzinverbrauch zu senken, und dann hätte man sich auch gleich ein voll-elektrisches Auto kaufen können (und für den Urlaub vielleicht nen Benziner mieten wenns weit weg gehen soll).

  • I'd call it "implausible deniability", everyone knows what it was, but people can weasel around and deny it and pretend it meant something / nothing / whatever instead of actually doing something useful.

    Even if Musk came out and said it wasn't a nazi salute I'd have a hard time believing it after he unbanned nazis on twitter, pushed their rhetoric, cozied up to right wing parties… and his face looked more like he was ripping his heart out than giving it to someone. "The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command."

    Have you made sure that your other rooms are not getting moldy? Cold air can't carry as much moisture so your walls, furniture, etc. might be getting damper than they should be.
