I'm also new to this and have been using Mint for my server, since it's what I am using for my desktop. I'm planning on testing out moving it to Debian. If I'm being honest, the real reason is because the logo is cooler.
Mis/disinformation contributes to the current culture of political divisiveness that is actively weaponized as a tool by the far right to harm trans people in service of their political goals. Rowling is an active participant in that. The normalizing of misinformation as part of a post truth world makes it easy to demonize trans people because then you don't have to care about all the evidence that runs contrary to the fear mongering. We're not going to build a just world safe for trans people with fascist tools, and we're not going to resist transphobia using their playbook.
In this specific context, it is also a needlessly weak argument. It's easily dismissed by people sympathetic to her as factually inaccurate, and plays into Rowling's demonizing of trans people. U/rose's reply is far more compelling an analysis. There's plenty of fucked up things about her, we don't need to overreach.
Also, call me old fashioned but yes, just because. I think critical thinking and showing the evidence is a good thing actually.
What I liked most about ER's open world was that it meant you could go and do something else if you were getting frustrated with something, then come back a little stronger and a little better. The starting region being designed to teach you this lesson is clever, and I think overall it was a huge success in getting more people into the genre.
That being said, the more traditional "scripted" (if not linear) sections of the game are where it shines. I think they learned that lesson, as the expansion is more diverging and intertwined paths, rather than fields dotted with content.
Look she's a horrible person and I hate her as much as the next trans, but none of the news coverage on it I've seen so far actually has any evidence she was involved in the invitation. This kind of enthusiastic perpetuation of misinformation isn't ok just because it aligns with our views.
It taught me to use home row touch typing. Before that I was fast enough at search and peck that I didn't see the point of home row. But when you're chit chatting in the heat of battle you don't have time for that shit.
He's basically a Klingon weeb. He learned to Klingon from operas, and has an idealized understanding of honour that is completely out of touch with reality.
True. Maybe they think keeping a low profile will minimize the disruption while we diversify, but hoping for a return to a status quo is just naive. Putting up a flight might get him some flak from those impacted by the trade war, but appeasement and compromise don't work with fascists.
We should have hit them with the digital services tax and used that to fund relief projects. Tax the foreign rich. But this is Carney so we get austerity instead.
Valor Mortis is a first-person action soulslike from the creators of Ghostrunner. Rise from death as a former soldier of Napoleon’s army. Wield supernatural powers, battle horrifying monsters, and unravel a conspiracy that threatens all of humanity.
Looks weird. It's nice to see all this creativity in the soulslike space these days.
