Oops, you’re right! That’s what I meant to say but I got mixed up
Right, CMY for ink, RGB for light though.
this image is pretty helpful. With light you’re starting with white (the center of the left diagram) and subtracting colours to get your ideal colour. With ink, you’re adding colour to get your ideal colour, and adding all of your colours will get you to black.
I have a necklace that at first glance looks a bit like a cross, but it’s actually Eowyn’s sword from the Lord of the Rings.
“I am no man!” stabs in the face
High heels were originally created for horse riding because they would help you keep a good grip on the stirrups.

Transfem@lemmy.blahaj.zone•Somehow I am suddenly starting to resonate with women way more than I do with men (Alternative title: Women are awesome)
9·6 months agoOh yeah the beginning of that stage is really euphoric! You’ll probably start to notice that random women in public will strike up conversations or just smile genuinely at you without quickly looking away. And men will start acting less friendly and awkward.

Climate@slrpnk.net•Weatherwatch: why cooling white roofs cause neighbours to swelter | Climate crisis32·1 year agoThe important thing is that the high albedo material has to convert incoming light into a particular wavelength of infrared light that is not absorbed by the atmosphere and so it flies straight out into space. If it’s just white (high albedo) but doesn’t convert light into the right wavelengths of infrared light, then yes, it will warm the surrounding areas because a lot of the light it’s reflecting will get reflected off the atmosphere back down somewhere else.
Wikipedia has a thorough article on it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radiative_cooling

lol right, I totally forgot to explain that barbers often did surgery and dentistry.
That’s also where the concept of a “barbershop quartet” came from. Dentists would have the aforementioned quartet singing loudly outside of their shop to drown out the screaming of patients inside.

Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•How to go about getting delisted DLC from Steam?
14·1 year agoYou can download specific DLCs but I’m not entirely sure they’ll be useable. It’s worth a try. Here’s how you do it:
Open a web browser and type in steam://open/console and it should open the Steam console inside of Steam itself. Type
download_depot <game_id> <depot number>for Rocksmith the game id is 205190 and you can look up the specific DLC you want on steamdbSo for example, the Pearl Jam Song Pack could be downloaded using
download_depot 205190 222139Rocksmith’s DLC SteamDB page: https://steamdb.info/app/205190/dlc/
If this DLC has been disabled as you said, this might not work, or you might need to make sure that Steam doesn’t try to update the game (which would disable the DLC again). You can do that by browsing to ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/ (assuming you’re on Linux, or just wherever your “steamapps” folder is on your PC) and find the file called
appmanifest_205190.acfand set it to read only. That should prevent Steam from modifying any changes you’ve made to the game. Just remember to set it back to writable if you want to update the game again. The game might not recognize the DLC as I said, but you should be able to access the files anyway if that’s all you wanted. They’ll be in
../steamapps/downloadingat least until the download is complete, then it should try to apply the DLC to the game, which might cause the files to get deleted. I’m not entirely sure about that.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•I would personally just treat whatever direction I'm facing at the time as North and go from there.
24·1 year agoEast is sunrise. West is sunset. The sun will also always be slightly south and even more so in the winter (unless you’re in the southern hemisphere then it’s slightly north).
If your local area has some kind of landmark like a big tower, or a big lake, learn where that is relative to you and use it as a reference point. For me, I live near a big lake and it’s always south of me. It might be easier for you to ask yourself “which way is the lake?” instead of “which way is south?” or whatever your landmark and direction happen to be.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Favorite underrated / unrecognized TV show? I'll go first.
31·1 year agoIt’s not exactly “unrecognized” because it’s fairly popular, but From – yes, that’s the name, and yes, it makes it very difficult to search for.
It’s pretty highly rated, horror/mystery show. It’s a lot like Lost except more horror less mystery. It even stars Harold Perrineau who played Michael in Lost.
The concepts and monsters are very scary and/or creepy. It gives me a Dead by Daylight “The Entity” and “The Entity’s Realm” vibe if you’re familiar with the game.

01·1 year agoWomen, don’t marry men who won’t take your name. That’s a wall of separation he wants to keep between you. It won’t be the only one.
For negativity bias my wife just told me a great technique that she uses for that. Come up with a list of people whose opinions matter to you. Any time you question yourself, imagine how each person on that list would react to what you did. Since those are the only people whose opinions matter to you, if it’s mostly positive, then you should feel proud of your choice.
I’m sure you’re aware but I think it needs to be said more; but I think that most women would love to pay men compliments on their appearance, but unfortunately, it sometimes leads to weird, obsessive, totally inappropriate behaviour from said men and so that scares a lot of women off.
We, as a society, should try to discourage men from reading too much into a purely platonic compliment so that women feel more free to give men compliments without fear of super awkward and/or scary situations.
There are a lot of women that love fat guys. Ignoring the haters and wearing what you like is hot AF.
I’m gay, but if I were straight I would be with a fat guy over any other guy, 100%.
That’s a handsome woman right there!
I think because “nukiuchi” would be pronounced like “NOO-KEE-OO-CHEE” and “nukitsuke” would be pronounced like “NOO-KEE-SOO-KEE” so kind of similar. I dunno though!

Reminds me of that guy who was deported because he was too hot and turning all the guys gay
