I guess the clue was in the name, I'm done with this shitty instance,

  • No, continuing to consent to, participate, and put faith in the sham that is electoral politics is the compromise.

The fact that people see the impact of direct action, and can't resist the urge of their indoctrination to force it in to the box that is the constructs and systems that they're familiar, and therefore comfortable with, even in an expressly leftist community, is frustrating as hell.

  • I couldn't help it 😊

(edit to clarify, just in case: couldn't help but describe them that way. I just realised how confusing that phrase might be in isolation to someone who isn't a native speaker, or maybe my stoned and tired brain is just overthinking it lol)

  • The fact that anyone would need this amount of mental gymnastics to find reason enough to relate to the women potentially being targeted, to be against it, is pretty fucked up in its own right.

A large part of how patriarchy works is that men aren't expected to, so often don't, give a shit about the harm it causes until something impacts them directly, and even then, they will only actively oppose it if it harms them significantly more than what the patriarchy benefits them (toxic masculinity being a prime example of self harm many men are reluctant to fight).

Catering to this feature of the system only perpetuates it. Stop creating convoluted ways for them to relate (even "your mothers and sisters" shouldn't be needed), and start expecting, and demanding, they simply consider and therefor treat all humans equally (which magically leads to caring about what happens to women just as much as they would if it were men under threat).

  • Nah, it’s just wanted by the people who don’t want to wait for better methods to work. have the privilege to wait

FTFY, you overly privileged and status quo worshipping white moderate.

  • Oh, hey everyone, this random on the internet disagrees with masses of research that I guarantee they didn't even glance at, as well as observable reality (once and only if you're willing to set your bias aside, that is), problem solved!

  • Oh, so the people in your country aren't avoiding having kids because it's too expensive to either give up a salary, pay for childcare and bigger housing, or both? Or because they fear bringing a child in to a world being devastated by climate change and other inequality (which you oh so conveniently ignore)?🤔

But hey, don't let reality get in the way of your bootlicking..

(E: also, thank you for demonstrating one of the classist ableist and racist aspects of the myth - the idea and implication that people who are having more kids are "less developed", or that those who you do consider "developed" got that way by magic or "hard work", and not by exploiting those who you consider "less so" and their countries resources, is the epitome of that. Get off your fucking high horse)

  • Because while low birth rates are a real thing that is happening (because of war, hunger, poverty, disease, climate change, and whatever other inequality), "overpopulation" is and always has been a (classist, ableist, racist) myth, to shift responsability away from capitalism, which is what causes war, hunger, poverty, disease, climate change, and whatever other inequality, for profit.

  • stickers that I don’t want to waste

Permanently sticking it somewhere? That is a tattoo-level commitment, I ain’t doing that.

I have found my people and feel validated 😂

  • "accessible" 🙄

  • He also wouldn't have made it to this point alive were he Black, nor would he have the same kind of support had he previously spoken out about Black liberation or the Land Back movement for example, rather than how "wokeism" is the cause of racism.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - him shooting a CEO was good and inspiring, putting anyone up on a pedestal, starting a cult of personality, and ignoring some or all of the different systems of oppression at play, is definitely not.

  • I now have the hilarious image in my head of a toddler giving their granny a pat down (image of one in case the term isn't familiar to everyone), thanks! 😂

  • E: replied to wrong person, oops! 😂

  • Jokes are meant to be funny.

  • Ah yes, crabs in a bucket, doing yet another of the capitalist's jobs for them.. 🙄

  • I'm honestly not sure what the point of your story is, if anything, it was a surprisingly good result that the teacher was removed and the child wasn't abused any further, and quite gross that the protest was against this happening. Sounds like you agree with the protestors and were not happy with that result and think the child should have been subjected to even more scrutiny? Which is an odd point to try and make around a group of autistic people talking about being abused by schools and other institutions.

Literally last month an autistic kid was arrested and suspended for a "bomb threat" AFTER all they found his bag was a stuffed toy.

    Also

    a otherly-able (I hope this is a okay descriptor)

No, it's not ok. Disabled is the word you are looking for.

  • Unfortunately autistic kids still today, because knowing that autism exists and is much more common than previously realised hasn't really stopped anyone, but rather just gives ableists more opportunities to express their ableism.

  • it doesn’t seem to merit this level of pedantry.

But it's just so much easier for them than confronting the reality!
