Had a similar experience with a grad-level math class where the prof just handed out a sheaf of handwritten mathematical proofs. The class involved reading the proofs out loud and the prof explaining them. Excellent class.
Sure. But when you wake up you’ll be several years older, on a ventilator, and handcuffed to your hospital bed until you set up a payment plan.

111·2 days agoIt’s a “long form” story. Sometimes you need that to provide context. Also it helps treat people like people, not just like statistics.

Killer comic. Last panel’s a little weak though. Maybe it should break the fourth wall, like the guy looks at the reader and is like: “This is causing all the world’s problems.”

12·4 days agoA bit subtler than that. We still have the largest economy and the strongest military, but the problems we’re facing (both individually and globally) can’t be solved with those tools.
So we’re “great” but we can’t solve these problems… why not? Someone offers a scapegoat or similar “common sense solution”. And if you believe in it then everything makes sense. But for it to make sense you have to get angry.
