  • That’s the equivalent of what more than 55 million passenger vehicles emit over the course of a year.

This is never going to be achieved by eliminating car emissions. I know they have given that example to help people understand scale of the problem but now people will think eliminating personal cars will solve the issue when the actually the electricity grid, especially the grid used to supply to industries has to changed to cleaner energy.

  • Shows that toyota is behind others in the EV game because it lacks the real world feedback that others have from older EVs.

  • What bike do you have? Can you post a photo of it if you are comfortable doing so.

I have never seen a bike with a 17kWh battery. That battery pack must look huge

  • Lovely article. More people should read this.

  • Yes that is true. Electricity in Germany is far more expensive than in France. But that is not because nuclear is cheaper than other renewables. France's power grid is established, the reactors were paid for and built many years ago. In Germany on the other hand, they are actively adding new renewable sources so a lot of capital expenditure is underway. This is in addition to the fact that grid charges are crazy high in Germany and electricity taxes are higher as well

As you can see from this article (by the nuclear industry experts), the cost of adding and operating a new nuclear energy is way more than wind or solar. So it is clearly not the better renewable energy option.

Nuclear has a role in replacing coal and gas for cases where they cannot be replaced by wind, solar, etc. but it should not be replacing wind or solar projects. Hopefully we have a future where the grid is renewables supplemented with nuclear.

  • Your point being¿?

  • Lmao they are proposing nuclear as the 'better' alternative for clean energy

  • Nope. I don't hate anyone.

You just condone members of your government hating vast groups of people by voting for them. Doesn't seem like the actions of a loving person

  • Fine by me👀

  • Thanks and thanks for all the hardwork on universal blue.

  • Who said anything about destroying cars¿? I am just talking about selling them. I do hope the people whose cars were burnt had insurance. Then they could claim that and use it to buy a better car from a non nazi manufacturer.

  • If you own a Telsa, sell it.

Realistically, this makes no difference. Tesla has already got the money from the seller. The only person losing is the seller who now sells the car at lower price than they bought it for and have to put in more money to buy a replacement vehicle.

Flood the market with used Swasticars that nobody wants to be associated with and nobody will buy the new ones. Money is the only thing they understand.

The only ones who will buy Teslas now are conservatives and they will buy new 'just to show support for Musk'.

  • This is specific heating per volume. Considering that the Tesla cell has ~80% more volumetric energy density (643.3 Wh/l vs 355.3 Wh/l), if normalize the specific heating per unit of charge (instead of volume), the BYD cell is now only around 10% better.

TLDR - the Tesla cell is 1.8 times the energy density so 2 times the heating for 1.8 times the charge added.

  • as well as just a general lack of understanding of why things are the way they are.

Then enlighten us and bring us out of our darkness.

  • He went after big tech as a punishment for fact checking the bullshit coming from his administration and his followers. That was it.

This exactly. We have to remember that the stricter moderation policies on several of the big tech social media platforms had got trump banned from them. At that time, trump was incensed with them and had promised retaliation. That was the only reason he was going against the big tech companies.

Now that all big tech has turned away from democrats (probably as punishment for their antitrust lawsuits), we will see a much different perspective from the Trump administration.

Exactly. Lina Khan bought several cases anti trust cases against big tech but they were thrown out by the republican biased courts. Hell republicans even tried to hound and harass khan over the cases she was bringing
