Co-pilot slowed down my work machine to near unusable, and they make it pretty hard to get rid of. I'm not anti-AI at all and I hate co-pilot because of how it was deployed. Windows in general got in the habit of hiding options from users and installing things like security that bogs down the computer more than helps but can't be easily turned off.
I tie my shoes in a hidden knot bushwalk style and cut the ends of the laces off. They stay tied until I buy new shoes. I have a 3 foot long shoe horn to put them on. I guarantee I have saved at least a day of messing with shoes by the time I buy new ones after 2-3 years and it is super convenient as I walk out the door, which is more important than the time saved.
The science II station is better off without his meddling. Federation ships have to be the most frustrated AIs in the galaxy. They built them super smart, able to program living beings out of micro force-fields in their holodecks and yet these guys insist on keeping around a dozen touch screen buttons to push, chips to re-arrange and manually do calculations...
Barely matters, but I would bet on the latter but people always read lab leak like it is the former and usually call it crazy, as of a natural virus leaking from a lab that researches them is impossible.

They should probably be hoping for Trump's continued health. Though I have zero idea what JD would actually do if he was in office. He would definitely not be as chaotic, for good or ill.
