They were invaded by 1 of the 2 nations that agreed to protect them if they disarmed. The US did not uphold its obligations 3 times in a row through multiple administration’s. The latest conflict in Ukraine is a result of actions taken by the USA, followed by inaction on our part.

If we didn’t request their disarmament, lie about protecting them, it would be a very different landscape there right now.

It isn’t solely the fault of the US, but we are major contributors.

You keep writing like they have them and thats why they are being attacked. Its specifically because they dont yet have them that they are being attacked. If they already had them like North Korea, their situation would be more similar. I doubt people would be bombing them, in the same way people aren’t bombing North Korea despite it acting very hostile and making direct threats.

North Korea has nukes and it never gets invaded and gets aid sent to it. Iran doesn’t have nukes and it is regularly attacked.

Not really. Not taking them into account isn’t really discrimination. In the same way that there are many really awesome outfits made for children that they dont make for adults and we dont call it discrimination when they arent sized for everyone.

No first world country is going out of its way to make life harder for left handed people. There are shitty people everywhere though.

I wish it were because being any flavor of LGBTQ+ were as mundane and accepted as being left handed and didn’t warrant a month of special attention… but I know its because most of these companies didn’t really care to begin with, and that rainbow capitalism was just overwhelmed by a hostile and violent political movement in the US.

What’s a little extra disappointing, is how much of that seems to have only existed for the sake of the US market to begin with. I would have preferred to see us isolated like a theocratic regime and only have the marketing changed for us. I work with special needs adults. Your experiences, while valid, with many of those that arent so disabled that they actually can engage with society, do not represent those with more extreme versions of this disability.

Often they will never get to experience the fullness of life they could without. Basically, people with Downs who dont have caretakers with means are fucked pretty hard.

Of the 6 I interact with daily, I think they all would rather not have the disability, and 2 have said they would trade places with the guy in the wheel chair that has seizures sometimes, but is otherwise living a normal life.

In this case, at least lately, it less a brush stroke and more of a high resolution camera.

Once you support extremists, the argument of nuance becomes almost irrelevant to the rest of their victims.

Just like how most of us probably inadvertently supported Wienstein before discovering what kinda monster he is, or the thousands of examples of bad people that produce content over the decades. Systems in between are subject to manipulation via their vast wealth. The only way to diminish that is dissolution of superPACs and heavy regulation of all systems that allow cash to flow into politics.

All this also doesn’t take into account how creators gets paid.
