My previous account was @dumblederp@aussie.zone I left it because Rowling has turned out to be a pretty shitty person and I don't want the association.

Mostly I'm just here for idle friendly conversation over shared interests.

I can get caught up in my own stubbornness on some topics.

  • Nah, it's bluetooth only has so much bandwidth. It can send stereo sound but not mic or mono sound with mic.

Much like I wouldn't call out a Australian-Jewish friend for Israel's (Netanyahu's) actions today. PS: Fuck Netanyahu.

  • G'Day mate. I'd leave. With the student visa thing people are talking about, if you can get a few years study elsewhere, by that time the USA will have slipped so far down the toilet that asylum might have become a more legitimate option.

  • What was happening was the codec was dropping back to mono in order for enough bluetooth bandwidth to also transmit the mic. I don't think there was a way around it, it's a pure hardware limitation at this point. I could manually change the codec to a high quality option but it'd kill of the mic. I've ordered a new headset with dedicated 2.4ghz dongle. Thanks for your help.

  • Thanks for the recommendation, I found a cheap pair of TBS 600 gen2 refurbs so I'm going with that.

  • The Sony's were $500 at release. The shortfall was the bluetooth protocol not being able to handle stereo sound and a microphone at the same time. They're still a great NC headset just not for gaming.

  • Yep. It was definitely switching to mono which is no good for spatial gaming.

  • It was, whenever I loaded into a game or discord channel it'd drop back to mono HSP which killed any spatial sounds from the game.
