Since I invariably wind up getting "name suits" types of comments, here's the explanation behind it:

Around the turn of the millennium, I was trying to come up with a username to use on a particular site that had a shortish character count limit for usernames. My goal was something related to the fact that I would often be making my points in arguments with "holier-than-thou" types by taking what they were saying, and turning it on its head so the offensive stuff was directed back at them.

I also happened to learn shortly beforehand that many years ago "'ape" was somewhat commonly used as a verb to mean "imitate" or "copy."

I'm sure you can figure the rest out.

  • I understand all that, but there's no reason for that to require a subscription. A reasonable per-use fee seems like it should be an alternative option. Even if the company doesn't want to set up those abilities on each phone themselves (which seems odd to me considering how automated that process can be made - when provisioning the phone, pop it on a USB stand, fire up a script, and walk away while it completes), those events can't be happening with such frequency that a subscription makes sense for anything but a larger company with a high turnover rate - one that implies said company possibly has bigger problems.

  • Those features aren’t free though – according to a note on the Void Phone website, “basic MDM costs are $2.50 per phone/month.”

At the 100pc minimum that's a guaranteed extra $250/mo cost. I know that's relatively cheap in enterprise terms, but what a racket for something that's mostly going to be "set it & forget it."

  • It'd probably be much lower if they were able to interview those people without any time left in their lives for answering such a survey.

  • Missed opportunity for Tesla to sell branded escape tools at a 20x markup.

  • Don't forget the killer flight sim.

  • I'm not really the type to sue, but I do appreciate when someone puts in the extra effort to do a job as thoroughly as possible.

  • Only if & when he can figure out how to drive them all to his "Truth(less) Social."

  • Merry Kissmyass.

  • Does this include the laws of physics?

  • Spare me. Those assholes are the kings of double standards, and have beaten my spirit down to the point of giving back what they have been putting out because they refuse to be reasoned with in good faith discussions. I'm done beating my head against their walls, and if that makes me no better then so be it. You go ahead and be all high-minded for me because they've broken me.

  • Because all I taste when eating anything "smoked" are ashes. I don't know why people pay to eat ashes, but I'm certainly not gonna.

  • You're not wrong factually, but you certainly didn't need to sink even lower while making your point. Never mind Republicans have well-earned the disrespect because they've long been giving even worse.

  • Being fat is a symptom of mental stress. Do you honestly think you're helping by piling on to that stress?

Those people you mention that claim being fat is healthy are obviously trying to cope with their stress. They're trying to find a way to feel "normal" despite all the external attacks on their person. Deep down they know the truth, but they can't deal with that until they deal with what got them there first. They need to fix the foundation of their problems before they can fix the additional damages it caused.

  • TBH, my initial reaction was pretty similar to yours. I mean even ignoring the asshole self-righteousness of immediately judging someone's weight without knowing them as a person (and thus the challenges they may be dealing with), at that age most people are having too many health issues to justify being judgemental in that fashion. Particularly so when you consider that at the time this guy grew up we didn't have the understanding we have today (let alone level of public education) regarding how the human body worked.

But given what this person choose to do to others, I also realized that such disrespect was well-earned. So, yeah - i went with the joke instead. I'm sorry that offended you because I agree with where you're coming from, but in this particular case I'm not sorry for doing it as this guy was obviously an asshole in being so manipulative as to start an organization like this. IMHO he therefore disserves all the disrespect he's gotten (and then some).

  • Can somebody bump the record player? It's skipping again.

  • Same scam.

  • And if already in such a position, immediately brought up for impeachment.

ETA: you know they'd be frothing at the mouth had Biden been accused of even a tenth of what Trump has.

  • Nah, he only like boys to pee on him.
