  • Zionism was considered a fringe movement prior to the Holocaust, the prevailing attitude was towards the Labor Bund, socialism, or liberalism. But because there was a sizable population, following, and political, economic support for establishing an "Ulster" in the Levant, Zionism was permitted and sustained by Western capital and empire.

The war, the genocide, eradicated much of the Jewish socialists and traumatized the survivors into believing the antisemitic beliefs that Jews, despite being native to their European states for centuries, were always strangers - and the strangers should go back to their ancestral homeland: Palestine.

Zionism, as a living coping mechanism for centuries of abuse during Diaspora, indulged in these twisted fantasies in order to free the Jewish people from their oppressors and threat of annihilation. Zionism professes itself as the agent of Jewish self-determination, but while the Israeli government drives the car, Europe and the US pave and path the road, supply the gasoline, and act as their mechanics.

There is so much institutional and ideological saturation of Zionism within Jewish institutions that make it very challenging to be liberated from; however the brazen and constant barrage of Israeli politicians, media figures, IDF troops, and the Palestinians crying out for help through their own broadcast of the starvation and genocide is deepening a rejection of Zionism.

  • Fft was and is my favorite.

"The gods have no eyes for chattel" never ceases to boil my blood.

  • can we please watch and see what he actually does?

Homer Simpson's Can't someone else do it but for political and social revolution.

  • Sounds like social engineering to break your will, ensure compliance, and plan for worker obsolescence.

  • That was the first thing I noticed too. It is an offense against him first, and the power to absolve his daughters' abusers is his alone.

  • It seems people feel betrayed by her and her platforming of liberal Zionism, but Natalie has shown herself to be a liberal since the inception of her channel and rise to fame. Her presentation was interesting - perhaps deradicalizing - during the early/mid Trump administration in 2017-19, since fascist politics, aesthetics, and culture were brazenly becoming normalized by the likes of the New York Times, the internet, and media at large.

But her time has past, no? Sure she still makes a very lucrative existence but her celebrity is very niche and echo chamber-y of people who are unwilling to challenge society to begin with.

I suppose this post by Natalie is a useful anecdote of evidence for the examination of liberal fetishism of respectability politics.

Ultimately this appeals to those who are unwilling and incapable of doing anything helpful for Palestine; it seems her supporters aren't activists to begin with but passive consumers of the likes of r/neoliberal waiting to be pacified and reassured that the status quo of their privileged section of humanity is still extant.

  • I think the USSR used to just give you a job, shelter, medical care and support but they did expect you to work barring disabilities that prevented you from doing so.

These posts and comments as you've presented them are just general misanthropy hidden behind assigning social worth to labor to wages, a rant on their learned helplessness to the sentiment of : why don't I receive help? Why is my life so hard?. It is the cry of the alienated capitalist subject.

  • What happened to Dirt_Owl?

  • Those two get paid as much as medical doctors per year every month

  • Kind of a tangent but I looked up history of the dunk tank and then it took me to the Jim Crow museum.

What a sick, evil, depraved society.

I'd like to think things are a bit better, maybe if only a little, but that kind of brazen evil is really horrifying.

Then a synapse fired and that is the reality the oppressed have always found themselves in. Especially right now in Palestine.

  • NYC mayor has nigh dictatorial powers in the city, being only be able to be checked by the state govt, NYPD, and the MTA

  • I think you're substituting age with intellectual lethargy in this statement.

  • A few days ago I asked about that zwei_squirell post and other heterodox questions that were amounted to dooming in this site.

I appreciated the feedback, analysis, and insight.

However, I certainly don't want to read a "trust the plan" comment. It comes off as a very adolescent, juvenile, and dismissive response; it comes off as hopecasting and political lethargy.

  • I think it was the Schezwan sauce comeback where someone made a scene at a McDonalds exclaiming the quote "I'm Pickle Rick".

The show, aside from Roiland, is OK. I don't understand the big deal before or since then around the show.

  • I don't mean to sound dismissive, but I recall her time in the sun was during 2017/18, and was mostly famous for deradicalizing fascists.

If Covid-19 and the million deaths was not the turning point for Zoomers to disavowing neoliberal politics and economics, then certainly the genocide in Gaza was. Her videos are talented for Youtube, but are those videos really as entertaining or interesting as you recall them to be? Is it anything else other than to recycle talking points that the state of the world is good because the alternatives are bad.

  • I caught the show once at a friend's house and saw Steven Yuen's character's arc close. It was too much.

  • I saw a clip of some DBZ movie showing an in-movie short of Trunks killing Frieza in 4s on Youtube today. Went on like 20 minutes of watching Future Trunks content on Youtube afterward.

I really liked Future Trunks and his character. No testing your limits, no humiliating the opponent, nor indecisiveness. No fighting for sport, pride of being a warrior, or playing reluctant hero. Just a soldier trying to protect the world.

"The nightmare is over, Cell. Die!" Just a pure speedrun of the Android & Cell saga. The Future Trunks timeline was of the same flavor as those dystopian movies like Terminator was from the 80s/90s media, but I really like the way Trunks stuck out as unique despite his limited screentime.

"Nightmares never last mom, one day you wake up and they're gone" - Trunks, Akira Toriyama.

  • Is this guy also a Zionist
