  • In regards to Espionage, it was pretty clear since more than a decade, probably two decades, that the US would not be the beacon of an open internet.

  • Many of the fires are believed to be caused by human activity: Spain’s Civil Guard has arrested 23 people on suspicion of arson and is investigating nearly 90 more.

    bruuh.

  • From the previous "Ampel" government all ministers except one took their Limousines from the inauguration in 2021 to the parliament, which was just a few kilometers. The minister for agriculture and member of the green party, Cem Özdemir took the bike.

As he later pushed shitty environmentally unfriendly policy, that turned out to be just a stunt, but the other ministers of the green party could have done the same. Or they could have agreed that the ministers are distributed among three mini-busses or so, instead of everyone in their own limousine. Just some practical gesture showing that they pretend to care and don't except themselves from the calls made to the public to lower their emissions.

  • As an internationally active company there is many jurisdictions, where Microsoft can be held accountable.

  • There simply is no "good option" in ethnic cleansing and genocide.

What should be done is forcing Israel to end the genocide and provide full access for humanitarian help. Then Israel needs to pay for the rebuilding of Gaza and all the war criminals need to be brought to justice in The Hague. European countries could easily enforce that by ending all weapons shipments and economic and diplomatic support for the illegal occupation as well as blocking all land, sea and air routes for any shipment to Israel that is beyond food, medicine and other basic necessities for life. Bonus points for threatening sanctions against the Arab states complicit in helping Israel such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Even more bonus points for breaking the naval blockade and allowing unhindered humanitarian access by Sea.

We have seen with the US that Trump actually doesn't fight, once someone stands up to him. China stood up to him and he stepped down quickly in the tariff bullshit. Russia isn't even bothering to pretend anymore and Trump is instead bullying Ukraine on behalf of Russia. If the US would be the only one left supporting Israel in the West, the Arab traitor regimes would also reconsider, if they want to go with the US down this path or quickly switch sides, which is in line with what their populations want.

The continued treachery of the Arab regimes will blow into their face and has the possibility to bring on a new Arab spring in Egypt and Jordan, which could spiral out of control for Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states quickly. Ethnically cleansing millions of Palestinians into Egypt or Jordan would certainly be the tipping point for these regimes.

If the EU countries get their shit together, they will realize that they are in the process of setting a region with hundreds of millions of people ablaze by continuing their lackluster response to Israels crimes and could face down a "refugee crisis" compared to which everything before was a walk in the park on a sunny day in May.

  • I can only recommend anyone speaking German to listen to the German-Turkish Comedian Serdar Somuncu reading from "Mein Kampf". The book is in large part incomprehensible gibberish that was mostly dictated by Hitler to his close friend Rudolf Hess while Hitler was "imprisoned" with many benefits after his coup attempt. There is sentences that have just been shortened with "etc.-" as Hitler must have rambled on without Hess able to keep up.

Somuncu is not only mocking the entire book, but also a lot of the absurdity of Neonazis idolizing and the German societies mystification of it.

  • The regime change in Libya was primarily motivated by France, not the US. It is tied to France continuous presence in its former colonies in North and West Africa. There is currently a scandal ongoing in France as the Sarkozy Government was probably bankrolled by Gaddafi .

The US is far from the only "player" meddling in Africa and West Asia and they don't need Israel to "order" them in many cases. What is special about the US Israel relationship is that the US is still doing what Israel wants most of the time, even if it is contrary to US interests. Many times their interests unfortunately did align in the past.

  • In this case it is even more insidious in my eyes. After Gaddafi has been ousted, Libya has been effectively split and maintained dysfunctional. Now they try to exploit this split and dysfunctionality to promise recognition to whichever side is willing to play their evil game.

The same is don in talks with South Sudan and Somaliland, exploiting weakened countries that have split off and struggle for international recognition. Of course all of the "candidates" are wholly unprepared to provide any sort of safety to the ethnically cleansed people. In my eyes this has strong resemblance to the Madagascar plan of the Nazis, where the inability of the receiving land to adequately care for the people and subsequent large numbers of people killed by starvation and/or conflict with the local population is by design.

In a way it is offshoring further genocide through ethnic cleansing.

  • Civil disobedience and "petty crime" aren't mutually exclusive. It is integral to civil disobedience that laws are broken. Also there is probably a difficulty and lots of legal debate about when violating a civil contract, borrowing an item for a specified time, becomes theft of the item by not returning it.

I think non of these should be the question here though. It is simply a dick move.

  • "once upon a time" vs. "within the lifetime of a significant part of the population or their parents".

If we where to turn that argument around, you would also have to argue that anything that happened since idk. the 90s or so should just be ignored and not seen as relevant anymore, no matter how much it ties in with how the world is currently.

As i have explained before, the strong interconnection between Israel and mainland Europe is ongoing and it will have strong implications for the future of both. So the past, present and future are deeply connected.

The partition of the Ottoman Empire (30 October 1918 – 1 November 1922) was a geopolitical event that occurred after World War I and the occupation of Constantinople by British, French, and Italian troops in November 1918.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balfour_Declaration

The Balfour Declaration was a public statement issued by the British Government in 1917 during the First World War announcing its support for the establishment of a "national home for the Jewish people" in Palestine, then an Ottoman region with a small minority Jewish population.

The family history of Netanyahu is a peak example of Israel being a political project mostly by Europeans, or European Americans. It is the "European" answer to the problem of "European" Antisemitism and many aspects of the logic that bound Antisemitism and Zionism at the time of Netanyahus parents persist to this day.

You can neither look at the history of Israel nor at today's Israel without looking at Europe (and the US) as well.

  • There is a strong cultural and personal interconnection. Many parts of European politics and Israeli politics, see Israel as an outpost of "Europe" in West Asia.

People already mentioned Eurovision. When it comes to sports, Israel also participates in European leagues in many sports such as football, basketball, handball, marathon and many more.

As more people will flee from Israel, most of them will either go to EU countries or the US.

  • By the article a lot of them go to Greece. The two interviewed people went to Greece and Italy.

Many Israeli citizens have grandparents who grew up in Europe, or who fled to the US from Europe and then went to Israel.

Netanyahus original family name is Mileikowsky, his fathers family is from Warsaw and his father was an important figure in the Zionist movement. His mothers family went from Lithuania to the US and then to Palestine during the last years of the Ottoman empire.
