  • Update from my last comment here: I now have also read Absolute Wonder Woman and that also slaps! I never really knew much about WW, but this version of her is soooooo cooooool, and she's just the most likeable person to ever exist. She's ultra-confident but also extremely respecting, she's so endearing you just want to keep reading because of her alone. I think I like Absolute Batman a little bit better, but it's mostly because I feel like a lot more stuff happened there than in this one in a similar number of issues, but both are really close. Also the Annual 2026 is amazing, it's super sweet and leans so much into what makes this WW feels so cool, and the artwork on that is really good to, even tho I absolutely love the art style of the first few issues more.

    Next I'll read Absolute Martian Manhunter, but I can't wait to read all the other ones too, specially the Flash one, there was a preview in one of the WW issues I think, and it looked interesting.

  • DAMN, I kind of didn't believe the hype, but FUCK DO I LOVE THIS!! I decided to just give a go randomly today and ended up reading every issue of Absolute Batman back to back, this shit slaps hard! I never read many comics in my live, specially hero ones other than a few here in there, but I absolutely loved this one, I can't wait for the next issue and now I want to read all the other Absolute comics, I heard nothing about the Superman one, but I have heard that both the Martian Manhunter (my absolute goat on the old Justice League animation) and Wonder Woman are pretty good, and seeing she has a big fucking sword, I'm even more excited to read it.

    Some of the inversions and twists of established things off usual Batman stories are pretty great, I did not expect for Bruce to be childhood friends with Catwoman, Killer Croc, Penguin, Riddler and Two-Face, not only that but I actually like them a lot, I got really sad seeing what Bane did to them, they didn't desert that at all.

    Speaking of Bane, this mf really betrayed the revolution on the first chance he got, and what that got him? He lived a life dedicated to being Joker's dog in exchange for the prosperity of his country and now he's a bunch of organs together in a tube watching his country, wife and kid get bombed to shreds.

    And wow Joker is fucking terrifying in this story, a billionaire/trillionaire that's probably immortal and is a literal shapeshifting monster that uses children's bodies and cells to live forever, what the fuck.

    Also I obviously really liked the extra issue where Batman beats the ever living shit out of those fascists. My only complaint would be that the end is a bit ambiguous, where I didn't get if he feels bad because he misses his father or because he beat them, I hope the intent was that he simply misses his father because he was more than right to beat those fuckers.

  • Update: Silver 1 was hell for some reason, I got matched with a lot of people that were way better than me most of the time, but after persevering a bit I started winning and now I'm Silver 4. From Silver 2 and above I started getting much more even matches with people actually around my skill level.

  • Played a bit of Absolum yesterday, I unlocked the Frog dude and got all the way to the arena but died to the boss there.

    I have also been playing SF6 online since friday. I'm trying to learn Ed because he's super cool but it's pretty hard so far. I've done the placemnts and got bronze 5 but a few matches later I'm now stuck on silver 1. Me lacking mixups is kinda bad since everyone just blocks most of my stuff, but I'm learning one to see if it helps.

    I previously played Marisa and she's way easier to play, I remember getting to gold with her. The good thing is that I'm way better at reacting to DI and anti-airing right now, which I basically never did before with her.

I get that the game has been in development for a long time and some of the voices have been added long ago, but just remove them, why the fuck would anyone in their right mind support a game where there are two zionist pieces of shit voice acting?

  • Nah, Edmund is not a chud afaik. Isaac for example, have a few queer themes, tho it's nothing major, mostly on a few items and he have validated queer, specially trans, readings of the game before on his Twitter account. Also I remember him saying in a video that the name of this new game is not an endorsement of eugenics in any way, I would bet the messaging is probably the opposite of the title if anything.

  • Yeah, feels like they just set crazy expectations considering it took 10 years of development with multiple internal reboots plus the fact that they think the game is gonna be a success with no marketing and advertisement just because they are Riot. Fighting games are growing but it is still a niche. They could at least had waited 6 months before doing this bizarre shit, what a way to tell everyone you don't care about your newly released game

  • Even then, LOR is still around just no one plays PVP anymore from what I saw, the only reason I don't play it anymore is because my phone is basically a glorified brick rn, cause I really like that game.

    Nah, stuff there is still balling. Nidalee and Janna redesigns are actual fire for example. The actual reason is that they did jack shit for marketing and advertising, like they expect the game to just be the hugest shit imaginable just because they are Riot, barely had a competitive scene from what I remember, which is something they seem to have learned for 2XKO at least, alongside with basically no cosmetics to buy. They complained the game wasn't making much money, but it basically had nothing to buy to begin with, the game needed more sleeves, more boards, more emotes, more card skins, hell even sell custom effects and win screens, 2XKO has that, even LOL now has that too from what I have seen. They do the barely minimum and expect it to just make them rivers of money.

  • Everyone plays solos instead and Duos becomes a niche side-story.

    I'll have to disagree, I still see quite a bit of duos on casual lobby at least, but I haven't played a ton of ranked yet. On tournaments it seems to be a bit of a low representation, but Sonicfox and Inzem are playing duos and getting good results. There's also the twins from Japan that I keep hearing about.

    The magic that happens when things go right and people synergise to pull off cool shit is VASTLY better than solos optimised combos.

    While I agree it is super cool, a best of 3 set is not enough for that to happen to the majority of people, not even a best of 5 would be enough, ranked would be a mess specially on lower ranks. I could see it working for casual, but even then you would require people to keep playing together for a long set, and after that, all that effort goes to waste because you then get paired with someone else that plays differently.

    The devs agree with that and are going to tone that down from a video I saw talking about that.

    I don't think communication is an issue, you don't have time to communicate in duos anyway.

    I actually use communication quite a lot with my brother when playing so we don't end up coming in at the wrong time, don't end up wasting super and to use tag correctly. Tagging specially would just be super weird without communication and a common pain point when playing with randoms.
