  • Interesting article from 2018. I loved the Police Quest games of the Sonny Bonds era. I was maybe 12 or 13 when this one came out, and I could tell it was shit I didn't want.

  • This is a great write up and analysis. It does make me wonder why there are big names associating themselves with this when it seems to really be a big mess under all the cool colors not to say anything of the garbage that comes out of the developer himself.

But maybe it all speaks to a way to improve upon and move past Omarchy. There is clearly a group of people that want to use or at least try Arch and Linux in general, but don’t really know how. Providing a highly configured Arch setup, that looks cool, actually delivers on security, that is created by people that understand systems, that still allows for the freedom of choice that Linux provides, and that aren’t developed by a scumbag could be a big hit.

  • Oh this game. It is something else. I was enthralled. One of the all time greats. Looking forward to reading this piece!

  • To me they’re now just another tech company whereas before they had a little bit more credibility and respect.

  • I cannot understand why Nirav, the head of the company, would weigh in here instead of having the PR/Marketing team of or someone come up with an answer for this. Made it so much worse and I have such a bad feeling about them now.

Maybe some Ben Franklin will help them “It takes many good deeds to build a reputation, and only one bad one to lose it.” “Never ruin an apology with an excuse.”

  • Oh thanks I didn’t see this about the rebrand.

  • Man fuck that. I dont expect a tech company to be great. But I have a 13” and was excited to see these keep getting better. But that response is just bullshit. There are legitimate business reasons aside from all of the many moral ones not to support bullshit reprehensible creators and by doing so publicly connect your company to them. If they can’t even see the dollar signs there… well… fuck em.

Maybe I’ll start quoting the Hyprland fucks in the framework forums and see if that language flies or gets taken down.

  • I love the new version. It wasn’t really a reboot but a continuation.

  • Revolt is an option. But it needs people and communities.

  • How do I block an instance?

  • Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

  • Right? I thought that was odd, too.

  • Are you pricing it as supplied by Framework or the DIY where you can bring your own separately purchased RAM and storage? That could bring the price down. And you can start small and grow it later. And repair it if things go wrong. If you really want a Linux laptop I think DIY framework is the best option you’re going to get at the moment due to the repairability and sustainability. I think the trackpad is perfectly fine. I use headphones on a laptop so I barely remember what the speakers sound like. Or just stick with Apple if you prioritize hardware feel. That’s perfectly valid.

  • I love my 13". Does exactly what I need. I kind of want the 12", but I don't really need it. So i'm going to hold off.

  • Well in case anyone else comes to this looking for a similar solution. I did improve on the second issue. I right clicked on the Activity Bar widget and selected Show Alternatives and chose Activity Manager. That brings the area at the bottom right of the panel to just say the current Activity. I can use shortcuts to swap between them or click on it and choose.

I still haven't figured out how to get my pinned apps to stay where they.

  • A few posts down in my feed is a photo of children zip tied in immigration court and it is fucking disgusting. There would be other problems in a Harris admin. But maybe we wouldn’t zip tie little kids.

  • That’s not really what the sub is about though. It’s not about satire. It is about things that seem like they would be satire but are in fact real. There is a lot of republican politicians on here because they fit the brief pretty well.
