Well he was acting under the authority of a regime that is actively looking for an excuse to deploy the military against it's own citizens and fetishizes murdering their political opponents. In a sane world he would at a minimum be suspended pending an investigation, but instead the fuhrer will try to get out of any possible charges and probably give the fucker a medal.
I loved the hell out of that game. The Widow was sick as hell, stealth missile ship, loved that. It's still pretty high on my list of games by time played and I miss it.
Good and Evil aren't some mythical power or taint on one's soul or actions. They're not equal eternal powers, no matter how comforting it may be to think there's some grand celestial war of morality.
The whole world wasn't good in the beginning, it just, was. Indifferent. The natural world just is, no good or evil, just existence. Only when conscious thought enters into things can morality and ethics exist.
The idea of Evil as an absence of good is silly. You see homeless people on the street, do you stop and help every single one? Is simply knowing they exist and refusing to go out of your way to help enough to be Evil? Is the failure to provide meaningful help at every single opportunity enough to be branded as evil? It's an absence of good certainly, but calling every failure to impart good itself evil is an absurdity.
They're already deporting others, with more malice than evidence. If we can stop the machine, we absolutely should. Until we can stop the machine, at least let it focus on grinding up the shitty people who thought it was a good idea in the first place.
Frankincense was a fancy incense-like substance, burned for the scent. Myhrr was used in fucking EMBALMING. They were both fucking weird ass presents to give a baby, but they were also expensive and generally hard to acquire.
What, the DoJ openly admitting to redacting the files to protect "Politically exposed" people wasn't sign enough? No shit they're trying to bury Trump ties, they're not even hiding that.
Because inviting your rival to some recreational outing just to absolutely dunk on them and send them home in shame is more socially acceptable than violence.
I relentlessly hate that shit. I've heard a few reasons for why they do it, and none of them are good. All I see is some pretentious twat who really wants the thorn to be a thing, and it's not going to happen. I wish them the worst.
It was never about actual freedom from oppression with those people, it was just about who was getting their way.
If you wanted to do things like prevent someone from firing or evicting someone just for being gay, that's oppression. If you want to keep a teacher from just teaching the christian bible as literal scientific truth in a public school, that's oppression. If you wanted to say people shouldn't be allowed to own anti-aircraft missiles, that's oppression. None of those are allowed, don't tread on me, oppressive fascist state bad.
If however you wanted to round up all the brown people and put them in camps, that's totally fine by them. If you want to arrest people for speaking out against a hard-right regime, go right ahead. If you want to strip LGBTQ+ people of any and all rights you possibly can, go for it, they're the "bad guys."
"Don't Tread On Me" was always a dog whistle. It was never about freedom, it was about making sure the "right" people got tread on.
It's projection, they feel deep insecurities and discomfort with sexuality, especially their own, so they're either assuming everyone else must be some kind of heinous deviant or they're trying to keep the attention on other people.
