sensitive auDHDer, curious about the world

Avatar description: glitched out Pluto but red

  • The article is funny, not because she's funny but because she is so damn pretentious and up her own ass. The writing is like a cross between the main character in Sex and the City, and Contrapoints' annoying pontificating.

Privately, jokes aside, I am quite susceptible to penis — like, I worry that in some Hobbesian state of nature I might just automatically kneel to the prettiest one —

This is just funny tho, relatable I guess lol.

If the experts say my romantic letdowns have some larger social significance, I am not going to argue. The men I want are not wanting me badly enough, not communicating with me clearly enough, not devoting themselves to me: All this certainly seems calamitous enough to warrant an “ism.”

    Like, are you serious???

I meet this type around sometimes: fluent in the language of polyamory, waving his respectful desire around like a plastic light saber: Pew pew. Why would you play with just one toy when you can take turns with all the toys? While at the same time vaguely subverting … something. Capitalism?

Lightsabers do not make a pew pew sound.... sigh.

  • I feel like they just made it up so they would have something to add to the generation snark.

  • When is it gonna pop already?! So sick of it

  • Absolutely. The contradictions, before I knew what they were, felt unbearable, because the system clearly doesn't work but I was brainwashed with the "humanity has always been selfish and awful and it was inevitable that things would be like this, and this is the only possibility because nothing else has worked." If something did not debunk that belief, it was going to kill me. Liberalism is a VERY dark place to be unless you're a blissfully ignorant treatler.

  • Is it me or is the whole island about to pop off? It's entirely vibes because I've never been there, but I've just been hearing so much horrible news, and you know, it's an island... isn't that kind of like a pressure cooker?

  • What would this do exactly? Is this the guy who controls interest rates?

  • Do you think it's another trap? Like, a "pressure release valve" to pacify us? Or is it inspiring people and getting them thinking about resistance?

  • Although things are getting increasingly fucked, I also don't trust this channel, Guard the Leaf, it feels astro-turfy to me. It was created about 4 months ago, and this is its description:

Guard The Leaf is a proudly Canadian voice covering the rising tensions between Canada and the U.S, from trade and tourism to sovereignty and survival. If it affects Canada, we talk about it. This channel is about standing up for Canadian independence, calling out disrespect, and making sure our side of the story gets told, because no one else will.

My instinct tells me that there's this

thing going on but for Canadians.

  • Yep, sounds like fascists...

  • It's kind of confusing to me how the president and supreme leader seem to be saying two different things. I'm not sure who he's trying to appeal to. Is he trying to look good for like, international law reasons...? Is it a dual strategy, like I try to calm them down, while you do resistance stuff?

    ???

  • It is that but it's also like, when you post something way too violent that could get you in trouble. So it's kind of like blood in the water for sharks, you'd be attracting feds, so 'fedposting'.

  • Sometimes I doom because I'm not "seeing" much resistance (other than lib stuff) but then I have to remember that the internet is very censored now, and people are being careful about what they say. I'm kind of isolated and not in any condition to be in an org, so my window to the world is whatever I see online. I feel like it used to be a clearer picture but now with all the [Removed by Reddit] it's getting foggier and foggier. I have a gut feeling, and I hope it's not just cope... but when Luigi happened, the system took a few days before it could catch up and filter out the genuine reaction of the people. For a few days you could see the unfiltered, un-astroturfed reaction of regular people to what happened. They were overwhelmingly on his side. I mean, he straight up zeroed a guy. And the whole country was celebrating. That's something. Something really big. So either I'm crazy, or people are really logging off and... you know. That this quietness and libness isn't just people giving up or being helpless, but rather it's like the tide going way far out and everything getting real quiet, before the tsunami hits.

  • Can you DM me the link, I'm still curious

  • I've started Tabyeen - The Neglected Obligation, as you recommended before. I'll check out that article too, thanks!

  • Is that passage from his book? I've just started reading it.

  • Holy fuck. Something has got to give. How can the people accept this?

  • My dad took the bait. So it's working on some people. But I feel like it's not hitting like it used to. I was too little for Iraq so I'm not sure.

  • omg is THAT what happens?? I've been wondering why every time I'm really freaking out, my hands start to get tingly and they get stuck in a certain position (for me it's more like a claw than a fist). Thanks for the explanation.

  • Ok I think I got it. Had to do it through calibre with a plugin. Thanks :)
