It generates a prompt asking to run the hash generation on your system using proper tools for it. They’re not all equal, not even when it’s the same LLM in another context.
EG - Opus 4.6 is one of the ones repeatedly generating trash in the article, while it’s currently the top of the line LLM for Claude code and it’ll properly generate a password in that.
Maybe 1/4 of the way there considering needing storage/alternate generation? It’s a good start. Just vaguely basing that off of learning a gigawatt could support about 2.5m Americans 20 years ago though.
It’s not great but it’s pretty good for a large explosive. What gets silly is the original guided dumb bomb kits were just pure satellite navigation and they can be made to go way off by a peer adversary.
A modern inertial system can get within about 100m accuracy over intercontinental ranges though, and proper cruise missiles use terrain matching and whatnot to reduce that to nothing.
I’m pretty sure GPS/GLONASS are widely spoofed/jammed along the entire front. Bit of an issue for civilians anywhere nearby, but military tech’s built to operate without it with relatively high precision.
iOS already does this, and also through a local model. Is kinda useful with the massive photo collections everyone has these days, and you don’t have to give them all your data.
The clock thing is because windows sets the system clock (RTC) to local time and Linux typically sets it to UTC. Both can be tweaked to keep time the other way though.
Tried to read the strangely in depth Brace Belden page on it and it has the same issues as any long form LLM stuff. It kinda rambles and can’t properly organize things, so you just end up with eye glazing slopipedia.
I know every bit of this, and the reality on the ground doesn’t justify where we are. Ukraine is filled with Banderites but show me where they were doing some genocide and Russia had to step in.
Replying to myself because the rest would just be copy and paste.
How is the death of hundreds of thousands in what’s mostly a stalemate better than the alternate realities? And also, given that the original conflict was tiny, explain to me how this improved it.
We’re supposed to be in support of the people. How is this shit supposed to help them in any way, and how is this shit even the least bit materialist?
