A few years ago the IRS website wanted me to take a "video selfie" using a webcam to log in to access my tax stuff. I said Fuck That and ended the session. Finished my taxes through a 3rd party vendor instead.
No actually I can carry all the music I want in the storage of my phone. It's nice to have unlimited access to it even when there is no cellular data or wifi available. Sometimes I go fully out of range of all Internets but I still have music.
California does not make laws for the entire country or the entire world. Perhaps "Linux" should be distributed from elsewhere and offer zero compliance, from a location outside CA jurisdiction. I know there are some distros that are published from the EU for example.

I wouldn't buy their bullshit cars anyway. As an American who has been inside many, I can say that most American cars and trucks suck. Their reliability and build quality have driven me to only purchase vehicles from former WWII Axis powers nations.
I watched some local news yesterday where they covered the various explosions across the Middle East. They discussed the activity, the damage, the losses of life.... then they pivoted to a local news reflection on what this all would mean for us at the gas pumps. "Gas prices expected to rise" as the chief takeaway for us to ponder how it affects us, immediately after discussions of hundreds of human beings being literally exploded. Makes me sick.
