  • But really though. <- and that is a sentence that AI would never use because it references too complex of an idea and is too casual.

Humans are much more dynamic than these LLMs, especially because companies need their LLMs to be as uncontroversial as possible.

It's like a corporate memo as an AI

  • Seriously. The real solution is comprehensive privacy protection and consumer information export controls for all companies operating within the US.

This whole thing is just going to give an American company the capability to use Tik Tok to spy on people and control information, which is barely better.

And then they'll likely sell the data to China anyway. Data brokers exist and make a fuck ton of money on us.

  • None of the debt relief that happened is any extra relief that shouldn't have happened anyway because of the shit system. People should have had those debts relieved a while ago, but because of awful company administration (like people making payments, but the company's system taking 1 cent less than the minimum, so none of the payments over 10 years counted), those people didn't have the debt relieved, when they should have, based on already existing laws.

Btw, you're the person the comic is referencing.

  • I turned my head to the right to look at something and sprained my neck.

So when just existing hurts, you're old.

  • I buy distilled water for my daughter's baby formula bottles. They all come in plastic jugs and I really wish I could just bring a glass jar somewhere to get it refilled. Because I just know all that plastic is leeching into the water.

It's a shame that glass jars are so uncommon around here. The plastic is so wasteful.

  • It wouldn't shock me if there was some Deadpool/Wolverine foreplay involved as well. Might even devolve into just Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman looking longingly into each other's eyes.

  • People don't use these things as primary income. It's an incentive to keep swiping because they'll say to themselves "just a couple more and I can get a $5 gift card. I'm here anyway."

And so they just keep swiping. They become addicted.

  • I think the official US policy is and should be that US lives are more important than maintaining control of political prisoners. It's unfair to say the Griner wasn't "worth it," and it's especially not okay for the government to make that determination.

If the US government was ever at risk of saying (publicly) that someone "isn't worth getting out of political prison" they'd lose all credibility in these negotiations for US citizens' lives

  • That's that entrepreneurial spirit whenever been looking for! Straight to the top of the corporate ladder with you.

  • His first name being Richard would have been the cherry on top.

  • It be easier and cheaper and more profitable to just give these people places to live, social services and some education, and get them back to being working, tax-paying members of society.

Not that I think their value is only in their capability to produce, but that's how politicians like it to be framed.

  • The Midwest US is pretty well known for their "salads" of whatever the fuck gelatinous mess they want to throw together. It's a loose definition of salad.

  • The most frustrating thing about their interface is that if you've already watched an episode of something, then try to watch it again, it'll immediately minimize it to start the "next episode" countdown.

    It's been ongoing.

And Disney+ is so crowded with garbage now that they've integrated Hulu's content into it.

  • I thought we were past the Jeans thing... But here you are, pulling us back in.

  • Black person in a movie: "Why is Hollywood so woke?"

Muslim in an advertisement: "These brands have just gone woke."

Trans person in sports: "The woke are ruining sports."

School subject focused on Black Studies: "Woke schools are ruining education."

The rest of us: "Have you considered that you're just a bigot?"

  • When your best friend gets married and disappears into the relationship.

  • What it should have been is exclude the social media crap, create a browser extension that charges users and allows them to get through the paywalls, then it pays the journals.

Using a separate app makes the whole thing more of a hindrance than convenience. I want to be able to click on an article posted anywhere, load it in my mobile browser, and seamlessly get charged a couple cents to read the article.
