I’m pretty sure they’re legally required to display the helpline. No idea how the requirement has survived the current U.S. admin so far, but if these companies had their way, their victims would not be getting help

Games@lemmy.world•AAA Dominance Is Eroding: 56% of PC Gaming Revenue Now Goes to Games Outside the Top 20English
4·7 days agoA few years back, they announced that they would add a fee to be levied on game devs using their engine, and the fee would be calculated based on the number of times their games were installed by players. Not only that, but they would also apply it to games that were released before that BS.
They walked it back slightly but, at least for me, their intentions were crystal clear. Unity cares about nothing but the bottom line. If it weren’t for the massive, immediate blowback, they would have been all too happy to plunder their indie devs. To hell with that company.

6·7 days agoI knew I wanted to buy Road to Vostok when I saw his devlog explaining that he was switching from Unity to Godot as a matter of principle, even though he was well into the development of the game. That kind of dedication should be rewarded. Also the game itself looks really good
Iirc, with the Apollo 1 capsule, it wasn’t just the O2 environment that was dangerous; the hatch opened inward, so it was impossible to open when the inside was pressurized. Rest in peace Gus, Ed, and Roger.

5·3 months agoI guess I should play it then (and 2, judging by the replies). The only one I’ve played is 4, which has some really fun gameplay, and one of my favorite villains ever, Pagan Min. I didn’t care much at all for the overall conflict or most of the other characters. What kept me going was taking out the outposts, climbing the towers (until it got repetitive), hunting, and flying around in that dinky little helicopter.
Guess I gotta replay that one too now…

Edit:
Is PwC advising clients not to worry if an AI pilot project fails, and push ahead with a large-scale deployment anyway?
I hope that any cultist CEO that rolls out this crap gets bitten hard by their hubris, that they become an example for the rest
I use the complex 12-step setup involving a couple of side jumps and rolls before jump-slashing through the gap next to the wall
