  • Were carrier pigeons not successful? Just because something is discontinued, doesn't mean it was not successful for its time when it was deployed?

  • I still would never watch someone do sports but the other day I had this idea: Children sports must be more exciting to watch because children grow -> they have to adapt to their new arm length on the match day! Whoops his aim is off by 2 cm today, can he adapt in time??!

  • Why "can't you"? Why would academic research be impossible?

  • Every person (who is not deemed invalid, criminals cannot vote haha what if they change the law right?) gets to vote + Everyone's vote counts the same = If you have one child your family has 3 votes, if your neighbor has 4 children they have 6 votes. In a democratic event, if they can come to an agreement, they choose what happens without your input.

Maybe in the next generation your children will out-procreate their children, then you get to decide without your neighbor's input. How isn't it fuck-based?

  • This is a real problem though. Democracy is a fuck-based system. Uneducated people fuck without protection more ofthen than educated people, which gives them more voting power. Minorities (mental or otherwise) are only protected if the big-fuckers want it, since by design majority wins.

  • I used to believe art could be used to gaze into the zeitgeist of their production times.

Then I realized what you have just said. If someone in the future looks at hollywood productions, they'll have very wrong ideas about how people live nowadays. Like, it will be comically wrong. You could throw a dice to select a verb from a dictionary and you'd be more correct.

  • This is about steam. Post another thing for epic if you want. Whataboutism is not a good look. Two things can be bad at the same time. One thing can be "better" than something else while still being bad.

  • Sounds more plausible than some of the tech talking points.

They "just" need the expantional growth to be linear? If we can wish to change maths, we can change our own biology!

  • I wasn't in those statistics (open seas) until i was 24.

I'm pretty sure my cousin (6 y.o) looks like a 46 y.o to the credit card firms because he plays on his father's phone.

  • Most people are children (western countries have weird age pyramids but that's nothing compared to Asia), that's my reasoning. I'm very suprised I'm wrong.

  • My head canon: Most gamers are children: their parents who have no interest in their kids' hobbies buy the "biggest game" to show their affection.

  • AI is not complicated (hard but solvable with time and effort), it's complex(easy but numerous and their interactions make it hard)?

    sigmoid(aX+b) is not that complicated

  • Gonna be very effective when the US hits that kill switch and shows the world you shouldn't buy anything from US if you want to own stuff.

  • UK is not in EU.

  • No they are not. I cannot watch them unless i speed them up past what Netflix allows me. They are so slow and information sparse that i cannot watch them.

  • ok done(new law).

Afterwards: Trump-likes gave everyone a presidental felony (new law or do what they did to blacks in the past, sprinkle some weed or something) and then they pardoned themselves (new law), now they are the only eligible people.

or do they stop at this first new law when they are already in power?

  • Imagine you are doing a tarzan vine jump, and I cut your vine while you are jumping then say "See, you wouldn't be able to do it without my vines!!!". Yeah man, timing matters.

  • Linux @lemmy.world

Mouse keeps disconnecting and reconnecting, non stop. (It's fine)
